Having the same problem here with video stopping after 15 seconds or so. Love the plugin.

Well I compiled rtmpdump and tested with that and it seemed to download the file fine. Something changed on MTV's end and i guess the rtmp implemetation will need to be adjusted?

Just checking in to say that I am still missing this plugin badly!

Anyone found a solution even half way as good to get their XBMC music videos hit?

- BlueCop - 2010-06-06

I made an updated version of MTVN to use swf verification. highlandsun made a patch to update the librtmp in xbmc. there are some builds with it floating around with the patches. check out the hulu thread I know there are links for linux and xbox builds. I tested this on the xbox one. I also compiled one myself on linux and it works fine.

I am not updating the xbmc-addons svn. I am going to wait till the development settles down and the rtmp updates get incorporated in xbmc and builds are more available.

Thanks so much BlueCop - Very exiting to know that this script is back!

Please do report back if/when a Windows build with the librtmp update is released.

Can't wait!

Waiting for XBMC version. Please someone make one.

What do you mean?

here is an add-on version I have been using. I would like to open a repo sometime for the updated add-ons but have no time right now.

Please consider submitting them to the xbmc.org repo rather than hosting your own. The idea is to have a central repo for everything. All it takes is a quick mail telling us what to pull and from where.

3rd party repos should only be needed for things we can't include, or for development builds of addons that aren't considered stable.

There are a couple requirements that I can't determine. I am not a copyright lawyer.

I don't know of legal precedents if violating a sites terms of service also violates some copyright law. If so there are many plug-ins that simply can't be hosted by xbmc team and will need separate repositories.

I think the DMCA is still being fully interpreted by the courts. I am really not sure if what this plug-in does violates any of provisions in the DMCA.

At the very least you should submit them for discussion.

For the most part, rtmpe is trouble. If you're not using that, we're probably OK to pull.

At any rate, please bring it up on the list and we'll discuss there.

This does not work for me. I downloaded it from this link. It does list all the shows/categories. However, clicking on any one of them brings up script error. Im finding out almost 75% of all XBMC plugins/addons fail to work.

theuni: This is an RTMP only plug-in. It avoided RTMPE for a while because their flash server would allow encrypted or unencrypted connections for the same content. It finally broke when they switched on SWF verification. Thanks to the new librtmp this plug-in can function again. It now uses rtmpe if that is how the content is provided. I joined the list to keep up with whats going on. I wasn't aware of it.

todd72173: It works perfect for me. You need libRTMP support. I compiled the latest svn on my linux htpc and it is working fine. I am not sure how this works on other platforms now. rtmp connections used to work on all platforms with the old version of librtmp.

It got it working by using the latest svn build of 07/08/2010. However, now all the apple trailers dont work with this build. So, I guess you have to pick your poison as to which build you want to run for certain plugins. The build I have been using is the recommended STABLE FINAL build of "9.04.1-FIXED-BABYLON-T3CH". I cant believe since that time they have not made a 'stable' release for xbox,.

Hi BlueCop,

same Problem here on a Windows machine.

last night i installed the latest XBMC nightly from the original svn on a fresh windows 7 system with your fantastic script. Nothing else ...

First, everything seems to work fine. I can search, see the artist thumbs and the music video names. But when it try to view a video following happens. The thumbs fade out and i see a blank screen.

Can you please give me an advice. I read something about a missing adobe codec. Maybe this is my fault. But in the settings of youur plugin there are only two codec selection which are xbmc default codecs.

So, where can i download the codec for windows an how to install it!?

Thank you in advance.

Efty

Why do people install XMBC on Windows? Isn't is meant for XBOX?!?!? haha. If you are using your computer, then just use your web browser..I dont get it...
