Guidance labels / Parental Guidance Lock? New Tricks - jones_d56 - 2011-08-05

Hi

I am new here, so hope I am able to ask this here?
I have just installed XBMC4XBOX and the iplayer via the SVN Huh GREAT!

But 2 of 5 of the BBC New Tricks series wont load... I am "guessing" that it is because of a Guidance labels check box which must be selected when I checked via a PC...Sad

Is there anyway around this?
Sorry if i am being stupid or missing something...

Any help appreciated

Dee

as you are using the xbox, you should really go to http://www.xbmc4xbox.org as this forum doesn't support the xbox1, and xbox users are not wanted here Smile

please sign up on the other forum, make a debug log and post that (via pastebin or similar). you should find an iplayer thread already open there.

I have a question about subtitles with the plugin.

It seems that whenever I set the subtitles settings to "Download and Play," even if I have previously globally turned off subtitles, they will play.

If I set them to "Download Only," I never see them appear on the screen.

How should subtitles work with the plugin ?

I would have expected them to take notice of what the global settings were, and act accordingly - in other words, if the plugin was set to "Download and Play" but the global setting was "Off," I would not expect to see the subtitles, but I should be able to see them if I enable subtitles during playback.

Can someone clarify please ? I'm happy to run some debugs once I know what should be happening !

David

they probably don't take into account your settings. to be honest i've not really looked at the subtitle code.

For the last month or so, live streaming has ceased to work on BBC1 and BBC2 only. All other content and live streams continue to work fine.
Any idea what might be causing this?

- exobuzz - 2011-08-09

force the stream source to limelight and it should be fine. or make sure you are not forcing it to akamai.

- exobuzz - 2011-08-10

2.4.13 released

* bbc one / bbc two back on akamai_hd
* bbc radio 7 became bbc radio 4 extra

Cheers, updated on my repo.

First used the plug in today

I have a low power system, so not much CPU grunt....

iplayer HD ...... no problem
(if using web browser, iplayer HD content not playable with adobe flash player)

Many thanks to ALL Smile

not here. full log on pastebin or similar. but actually it's not needed now, as I have tested myself. I am aware of this issue. right now, it points to something not working right with the nightly python on windows (ive reproduced it on windows 7 / 64bit)

- exobuzz - 2011-08-18

I have tracked down the issue. it occurs when you have Dharma installed and then you install the new version over the top. You need to uninstall first and it should be fine. Ill report this to xbmc anyway, as they could handle this better in the installer.

this would also explain why I never found the problem in the past, as I tested with a clean install. it probably also explains why some people reported nightlies worked and others reported it didn't. so always uninstall first before installing a new version. (else you get a mess/mismatching python library files)
