this would also explain why I never found the problem in the past, as I tested with a clean install. it probably also explains why some people reported nightlies worked and others reported it didn't. so always uninstall first before installing a new version. (else you get a mess/mismatching python library files)
This has been driving me nuts for weeks - confirmed, this sorts it out!
In my case I just deleted the 'Program Files\XBMC' folder and then re-installed the nightly (11-08-06) and was in business!

Sory to be a noob pest but can someone help me with this. Iplayer loads and I can navigate to the show I want but then it just hangs and eventually crashes. Im on Windows 7 64bit with the latest stable Dharma.

appreciate you providing a log. please could you switch on "debugging" from the system prefs, and try it again as it will provide more information.
does it start playing at all btw ? there are issues with pausing/unpausing shows currently (xbmc/librtmp issue), but playback should be ok. it might be worth trying a nightly build also, and checking if hardware accelerated playback is on/off as it could be related to something like that.

Thanks for the quick reply, the answer is no it doesnt play at all. It gets to the info screen, I click play, it hangs and crashes. Iplayer works fine in the browser and other video addons work eg TVCatchup.

the info screen? so you get an info screen up first before playing? if so, please try changing the settings in xbmc so default action is to play not show info. unfortunately i cant see anything useful in the log. it's also worth trying the nightly build too perhaps.

Yes, thats done the trick, default action to play. The hours Ive spent messing around with it, and its something so simple.

it shouldn't crash, but there are some plugin changes needed to work with the info screen, which is waiting on an xbmc fix (that may be done), and ill probably sort it at the next stable release of xbmc

what country are you in? have you tried forcing the cdn to limelight or other settings ? please post a "full" debug log on pastebin or similar (enable debugging in settings), the debug log should contain the results of you trying both on demand and live.

Some of the screengrabs look quite like the 'real' iPlayer - large icons for each channel etc. Mine just shows a list of channels and then a list of programmes. Any idea how to change the appearance?
Also I'm trying to watch Doctor Who in HD but it isn't listed in the HD section - but is on the proper iPlayer. Any idea why?
Ever since Flash/iPlayer was changed I can't watch HD through the (ION) PC except through xbmc - great app.

I have a rather bizarre problem.
I have just updated my xbmclive dharma to pre Eden. The plugin works, but any stream plays with the bottom 1/8 of the screen distorted.
Anyone else seen this?
