Hi guys,

I am really stumped....

Which folder do I place the plugin into. In am running the PC version.

I have tried puuting it into;

C:\Program Files\XBMC\plugins\video
and then dropping the Iplayer folder into there

But when i go to "Add Soruce" and "video plugins" it is not there, Apple Trailers lite is there, although this is NOT in the above folder.

Please help end this insanity!!!!

Many Thanks

Edit;

What a dunce i am. Should have been installing to application data etc etc etc

Try the build at http://xbmc-iplayerv2.googlecode.com/files/IPlayer-2010-01-11.zip. It makes the use of the htmllib2 library optional. The plugin doesn't cache web pages it it can't load htmllib2 though so it will be a little bit slower.

Whereas all other downloaded HD content does.

Any idea why?
Confirmed

have downgraded

OK, wierd installation issue that 16 hours of solid research can't solve! - Lucky David - 2010-01-15

Right then...

First up, massive thanks for Dink for maintaining this for so long, and ed about this in the taking the original iPlayer script/plugin places where it thought it would *never* go!

Anyway, this is my issue. I've posted about this in the [Windows] thread, as well as the DXVA GPU accelerated thread.

My problem is *so* wierd, that despite a load of views, and hours spent trawling sites and REVO uninstalling and reinstalling XBMC builds, I am no further forward.

Anyway, when I fresh install XBMC 26269-dx, and add a standard video, music or program plugin into their respective directories, I can access and use them with ease.

However, when I drop one of number of versions of the IPlayer plugin into the C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\plugins\video directory, I encounter a 'Path not found or invalid' error when trying to access the Video Plugin directory.

http://pastebin.com/m584b71c3 errors thrown up around lines 616-618:

#
10:13:34 T:192 M:1692708864 ERROR: DIRECTORY::CDirectory::GetDirectory : Access violation at 0x77118c39: Writing location 0x00000014
#
10:13:34 T:192 M:1692708864 ERROR: DIRECTORY::CDirectory::GetDirectory - Error getting plugin://video/
#
10:13:34 T:192 M:1692708864 ERROR: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory(plugin://video/) failed

Is it that plugin://video is not being set correctly during IPlayer upload?

Also, this occurs whether I download the plugin via HTTP or via the SVN Repo.

And, even more oddly, it occurs when I move it into other directories too; I can run the SVN Repo from my "video plugin" directory, but copying the IPlayer plugin into [say] "programs plugin" directory won't allow me to open the "Programs plugin" option in that screen. But it will start as soon as I move/delete the IPlayer directory.

I am using this branch as the system it is being run on is a ION-GPU-based Revo HTPC, and need to use DXVA DSPlayer as the method for playing HD content.

I am *so* keen to get this working, as this was the much-better-halves' game-changer on my old Xbox system, and it would make her day (and her birthday on Sunday - *sigh*, more money) if I could get it working...

Lastly, the oddest aspect of this is that the plugin seems to be having an effect even before it is both opened, or the "IPlayer" directory is even able to be accessed/clicked on. Why would this happen?

System: Windows 7 x64, using either PM III or Confulence skins, logged on as administrator.

Halp!

Any luck with the VDPAU issue on r26540?

Not yet. I've posted to a VDPAU BBC thread at http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=66710 . It may be helpful if you can add a logfile as well.

On a more frivolous note, I've created some simpler square icons for use with skins that add overlays/round thumbnail corners.
Download is at http://drop.io/xbmctmp/ for anyone interested in checking them out.

Also, there seem to be a few unused icons in the current zip. Maybe it's possible to shave a few KB off the file size.

Cheers

No offence to whoever made the current set but this is a much better one and will fit in with more view types in Alaska seeing as they're all the same size.

Any chance of it being made official?

Yup - see http://xbmc-iplayerv2.googlecode.com/files/IPlayer-2010-01-16.zip

Hitcher b_balthasar helped with the previous set of icons ;-)

I will update SVN tomorrow if no one finds any problem with these updates.

Fantastic but I'm curious as to the reason for the all white ones?

No reason I'm afraid, just quick to knock up. Just noticed that they don't play nicely with the default alaska colour scheme though.
Surely there must be a nicer set of consistent icons under an appropriate licence. Any suggestions?

Cheers

I have never added a PLug-in so am probably making a basic error. I copy the Iplayer folder to c:\program files\Xbmc\Plugin\Video, through the video menu I add new plug in but only see Apple Movie Trailer Lite. So I browse to the Iplayer plug in and add it, I'm sure thats wrong but have no idea what to do, I guess I am putting the plug-in in the wrong place. Please help a newbie...

- Hitcher - 2010-01-17

It goes in your USERDATA folder not the install folder.

- Davidja - 2010-01-17

THink I've sussed it via SVN Installer, seems you dont need to download the files manually?
Thanks
