not at all. reading the specs have rather strict restrictions attached to it

dink Wrote:dabberdave can you give IPlayer-2009-06-13.zip a try. I have updated the category support so that it operates like the IPlayer website i.e. categories work across channels.

hey, that's brilliant! Thanks very much.

Stale listings - SiphonDaPython - 2009-07-04

Hi all

I'm assuming this is hopefully the right place to post for issues with the iplayerv2 plugin.

I downloaded the plugin just over week or so ago and ensured it was all up-to-date - all worked very well and even better with the H264 build. Gone on to use it tonight and still working but all the listings appear stale from the last time I used it over a week ago. No newer build available in checker.

Any ideas?

Also, any idea when the fast fwd and rewind will appear? If you fall foul of the pause timeout it can be tough starting over Smile

Cheers

For the stale listings I would need to see a log to try and figure out what is going on .

No idea I'm afraid on seek or pause within RTMP streams. There is a feature request thread about this at http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=48039

Sound sync issues - yoda230 - 2009-07-09

Firstly thanks for producing such a marvellous plugin. I have installed XBMC using the Ubuntu PPA repositories (xbmc - 9.04.1-jaunty1) and the latest version of the iplayer v2 plugin (IPlayer-2009-06-13.zip). I am finding that the sound is quite far ahead of the video.

Is there any settings I can change to fix this? Anything else I can do.

Many thanks

There are a few things that you can try.

First one is to experiment with is audio sync which seeks to bring the audio and video back into sync. These settings can be found at"Main/Home Menu" -> "Settings" -> "Video" -> "Player" .

If that don't do the trick while playing a video bring up the context menu, select audio settings and change the "Audio Offset".

I should also say that I am running this on an Acer Aspire Revo which has an Atom/Ion combo so it needs to use VDPAU to get decent video performance

Are you sure you are using VDPAU? Unless it is explicitly selected under Settings -> Video -> Player -> Render Method it will not be used.

I might be really thick, but I cannot see the audio sync options in the player section (http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Videos_Settings#Player). Do I need to upgrade to the latest SVN? Thanks.

VDPAU definitely set on.

I am very impressed with the quality of a 3.2meg stream. Thank you for this plugin.

But why does it take so long (6 to 8 seconds) in between sections? Can that be speeded up?

If they are not being displayed then it look like SVN is the way you need to go.

I take it by sections you mean each listing/page. One approach which might help is to use only the smallest thumbnails. This can be changed in the plugin settings.

Hi all,

Have read the entire thread through, and unless I've missed something, is the only way to get the 800kbps H.264 streams work on the Xbox without it freezing after 4-5 minutes is to use the stable Babylon build?

It's just that I'm using the stable T3CH release (May 2009) at the moment, and have had no problems with it so far - apart from this freezing issue! I just wondered if the SVN build of T3CH (26th June) fixes this issue? I don't know what I'm looking for in the changelog on there, so I can't work it out for myself!

If it doesn't fix the issue, and I have to use the Babylon build, will I notice anything different about the overall usage of XBMC? I've only had the Xbox for about 2 weeks... But I love how stable it is, and from what I've read, the T3CH builds are the ones to trust. But I could be completely wrong, I admit n00b status in the XBMC field.

Thanks for any feedback Smile

P.s. if I do have to settle for the Babylon build, would some kind soul mind either posting instructions or PM'ing me how to update my XBMC build to this one via FTP? Would love you forever!

- dink - 2009-07-13

Either the stable 2009-06-01 or the very latest 2009-06-27 T3CH builds will work just fine with the 800kbps H.264 streams . I have used both these builds and they have proven stable and will work in almost exactly the same manner as the May 2009 build. Most of the changes are under the hood.

Thanks for that.. I now feel completely stupid as I completely missed the stable build on his home page that clearly states 'Babylon fixed' in the title! Either way, thanks for pointing me in the right direction, and for linking me to the upgrade page Smile Muchly appreciated!

Will take the chance now to say a huge huge HUGE thank you for such an amazing plug in - I simply google'd 'xbmc iplayer plugin' two nights ago after thinking to myself "XBMC can do pretty much everything... I wonder if it can play iPlayer?". Lo-and-behold, you made it happen. Legend! Smile
