That's weird :~ There's no settings in the plugin for ratio cause they should come from TVC right. I've just checked here and it's ok, Is it possible you've got a custom resolution or ratio set?
Aspect ratio - mattg42 - 2010-12-11
Hi, I've switched skins (from Cirrus to Mayhem to Confluence), checked my resolution (1280 x 720), standard. Display mode is Full Screen 1, everything is default. I uninstalled 1.3.4, cleared out anything from 1.3.1/1.3.2 but upon clean install from .zip file, all channels are elongated / aspect ratio is wrong.
I also jumped into Casualty (the TV programme) on iPlayer and it looks perfect but on Catchup it's stretched vertically.
Any log files I can provide that might help troubleshoot?

I've just checked again and the streams themselves are fine. Can you go to a channel, start it playing, press Enter/Ok, go to the video settings menu, and under View mode choose original size then post a screen pic please?

If I press Enter/OK (I'm on an AppleTV so OK is my only option here) it goes 'Paused' and then if I press the left button (as I would to get the List or Options) it changes from 'Paused' to 'Seeking' and hangs the AppleTV - a separate issue but I don't seem to be able to get to the context view you mention.
If however I go into Video Settings/Playback, I noticed that Display 4:3 video as 'Normal' was set. If I change that to 'Stretch 16:9' then it looks perfect. So thank you for directing me to that option. Strange that it thinks CatchupTV is 4:3 but iPlayer is 16:9.
If I get the OSD/Context view with Stretch 16:9 set, I see
D(Video h264, yuv420p, 720x576 (PAR 64:45 DAR 16:9))....
If I get the OSD/Context view with Normal set, I see the same....
D(Video h264, yuv420p, 720x576 (PAR 64:45 DAR 16:9))....
Does that help explain the problem in anyway. Its fixed anyway so thank you Gerbil, it's really appreciated. Great plugin, fantastic.

It seems to be unique to your (and perhaps other AppleTV users) systems. With regard to seeking, XBMC doesn't capture the stream it only plays it at the moment so unfortunately there is nothing to stream.And you're welcome Rocky5

I'd be interested in hearing from other AppleTV / Pin87 image users to see if they get similar behavior or is it just me?!
I know seeking won't work as its a stream but I just wanted to flag I could get an option to view the aspect ratio the way you described on an AppleTV / Linux setup.
Either way, its a great plugin and thank you sincerely for your great support and for building/supporting it.

hiya guys,
currently trying to get this to work with xbmc 10, to no avail.
i have downloaded plugin.video.tvcatchup134, i am using windows 7
to start, i cannot get the actual plugin to show up in Videos > Video Addons (Im assuming this is where it is located)
I have in there:
Youtube
iPlayer
but no TvCatchUp.
Ok, so i tried installing by zip- i get an error?
So i tried manually pasting the folder into:
C:\Users\TV\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\addon_data\
which also didnt work.
now before i can create the TVC folder i need this to appear in the XBMC Gui, although not got it up yet, any suggestions

That's strange, it should just work. All you should need to do is download the plugin, go into settings, Addons thenInstall from Zip and then just navigate to where you downloaded it to. Can you try this and then post me a log file if it doesn't work.

not to worry guys!!!!
i just noticed the script must have failed the first time round which for some reason deleted the files in the zip file :S? (when i double checked the zip file there was 1kb of data)
i then re-downloaded and noticed the zip file was now 100+kb of date, it then installed perfectly and flawlessly!
i have not tried it yet, as i came straight to here to let you guys know its fine!

Hi all,
I've just installed xbmc on a Win7 box (I usually use Ubuntu, so will try that later), and the script installs fine, and runs fine....until I select a channel. Then I just get a black screen.
What have I missed?
