- >>X<< - 2009-07-11 seninha XBMC live as far as I know doesn't yet contain this patch which is certainly one thing to consider as a possible cause http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=52895 - seninha - 2009-07-11 Can you please explain me how to install this patch. I need to tell you that XBMC live is my first experiance with LINUX so please explain it in a easy way - duplu - 2009-07-11 >>X<<' Wrote:seninha I installed XBMCLive on my 330 when I first got it and it played 720p/1080p HD movies fine before I moved to a full Ubuntu install so I could run the latest SVN release. Therefore I'm not sure this patch will make any difference. I guess you are streaming the content from another PC in the house as you have an SD card in the 330. Have you checked that the streaming is at a sufficient speed for HD. I used to run mine over wireless and it had this problem as my fileserver was in the spare room 2 floors above. Everything else in your setup looks fine. - seninha - 2009-07-11 Streaming should be enough.System is wired to my router and from ther it goes ,also by wire,to my storage PC. - duplu - 2009-07-11 What are the loads on the CPU when you attempt to play a HD movie. As a guide my 330 runs as below for 1080p: CPU0: 5.1% CPU1: 0.5% CPU2:1.0% CPU3: 0.0% Bitrate of the movie is between 10 to 20 Mbits. - seninha - 2009-07-11 here's some info CPU0: 3.0% CPU1: 10.1% CPU2:3.0% CPU3: 3.0% (values go up and down all the time) Bitrate is: 6.44 Mbits. Also saw that fps moves from 22.9 to around 25. this goes also up and down. Is there not a way to intergrate the mentioned patch into the Live version?? Reason for using the live version is: -Speed but most important is the fact that I have 3 kids running around here who also uses daily the system to watch their movies. And the fact that Live version goes directly to XBMC is really very nice. - >>X<< - 2009-07-11 duplu Wrote:I installed XBMCLive on my 330 when I first got it and it played 720p/1080p HD movies fine before I moved to a full Ubuntu install so I could run the latest SVN release. Exactly your not sure it would make any difference and nor am I that's why I said consider it as a possible cause, just because you didn't have a problem with live means nothing if it did he wouldn't have this problem either You don't solve problems guessing whether something is the cause or not you have to try them to find out - seninha - 2009-07-11 Thanks But can you explain me HOW TO use this patch so I could find out if this will solve my problem - harryzimm - 2009-07-11 seninha Wrote:Thanks Follow this guide to upgrade to the most recent svn ppa. When you reach step 5, replace Code: sudo apt-get upgrade Code: sudo apt-get install xbmc Dont bother with the optional step. cheers - >>X<< - 2009-07-11 seninha Wrote:Thanks Afraid I don't know I expect a minimal install using the latest SVN would probably be the easiest there are guides in the stickies Or install ubuntu then xbmc linux, as far as I know you can make any of them boot straight into xbmc Maybe wait and see if someone else has another reason for your problem your network is definitely one area to consider as duplu mentioned - seninha - 2009-07-11 I get the next error after doing everything: Errors where encountered while processing: xbmc-live Eub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) Does this mean that it did not install new version?? - harryzimm - 2009-07-12 That error is covered in the guide i linked. Its after the optional part. Btw if you want to know if the upgrade worked, push "s" to access the shutdown menu and then move all the way to the left to system info. Inside it will tell you the revision number at date of compile. cheers. - >>X<< - 2009-07-12 Hey could someone at some point do a video of their Asrock running xbmc with Aeon and chuck it on youtube - seninha - 2009-07-12 OK: according to the info its compiled in july. So this means that it as been updated. But unfortunately this didn't solve the problem with the MKV I wanted to watch. I've just bought a H1 PC from Aleutia - http://www.aleutia.com/products/h1-hotel-pc which i believe is the same kit you can buy from mini-itx.com and the same mobo, cpu as AsRock. - please correct me if I'm wrong. in a nutshell here is my problem, xbmc live booting off a usb flash with the lastest nvidia drivers as described earlier in this thread. it will boot into xbmc, audio works etc and then randomly anywhere between 1-10mins of booting it completely locks up with what i can only describe as static horizontal lines on the screen. i have tried different usb flash drives, if anyone has any ideas i would be grateful as i've spent two days on this and pretty much fed up. i've done a quick video to show the problem- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgcSSbEuR4g |
