check to see if there is a "temp" folder in your extras folder, if not create one. i think that a known bug.

the missing temp folder will only prevent deviantart widget from showing up. extras.py should be fine without it. at least it was for me.

nop all i did was create the folder "temp"

verify there are no unneeded files in there anywhere - stuff like ._DS and such, since andy works on Mac - those guys sometimes get uploaded and mass things up

it would be way more helpful if you would post the corresponding lines from xbmc.log when this error occurs, as "script failed" is no useful description. the temp dir (and any .- files you'll find) has nothing to do with extras.py except for the deviantart widget which need a default png file inside the temp dir to work.
edit: go save your extras dir somewhere else as a backup, then replace it with this one, then check if the error still exists.
