I'm using a 360 hd dvd to boot the xbmc iso that was posted with the nvidia drivers, and I'm trying to install it to usb or sd because I have xp installed on the hd. The hd is partitioned into 2 drives with xp and a second partition. I was hoping to install xbmc live onto the 2nd partition but the boot cd didn't even recognise the 2nd partition. If anyone you guys have any solutions to my problems Ive be very grateful. - scovette - 2009-08-01 00:36 As you've got an sd card why not just install Live to the card? Then when the Revo boots up it'll automatically start XBMC, or if you want instead to use Windows then hit F12 and select the hard drive. - lefty420 - 2009-08-01 14:29 Ive tried but it keeps failing on the .img file and says check your media it does this for both sd and usb. - lefty420 - 2009-08-02 00:02 Ok I've gone back to installing xbmc live to the main hd of the revo. I'm just wondering how do you access the xbmc folders such as the skin folder or the scripts folder. Id like to use the aeon skin but its driving me mad on how to achieve this. Update for anyone whos looking to gain access to the xbmc files you can use ftp with port 22 or use shh app like putty
Image request - afaa - 2009-08-31 20:35 Can someone upload the ISO image with Nvidia drivers to megaupload or something similar. The link provided says bandwidth exceeded. How to get wireless working - bluepuma - 2009-09-12 13:23 I successfully installed XBMC Live 9.04.1 with the updated NVIDIA.185_18_14 drivers through an external cd-rom drive. Now I am wondering why the wireless networking isn't working. The iwconfig tools seem to be missing and I tried to add them but that doesn't work without network connection. Code: sudo apt-get install wireless-toolsI tried to add the main Ubuntu Desktop installation cdrom as repository which does show up in /etc/apt/sources.list
sudo apt-cdrom add
Then I copied the cdrom line from sources.list into one of the used sources.list in /etc/apt/sources.list.d and disabled all others. But it still tells me the wireless-tools is not found on cdrom, even though the live boot from Ubuntu Desktop CD has it working. Any ideas how to get wireless working without a network connection? |
