Well I've been experimenting with this and the setting in Advancedsettings.xml doesn't seem to make a difference, the visualisation seesm to be what controls it for instance if I use projectm it stays on longer than if I use goom! - ronie - 2009-08-04 00:27 grupy Wrote:It works!! two things, 1) it' been reported that upgrading to the last svn version fixes this. 2) or add <songinfoduration>3600<songinfoduration> to your advancedsettings.xml file, this will make it stay on screen for an hour. you can increase the value if it needs to be even longer. edit: 3) forget 1 & 2 and read the comments below. ;-) - joebrady - 2009-08-04 00:30 grupy Wrote:It works!! nemulate Wrote:Well I've been experimenting with this and the setting in Advancedsettings.xml doesn't seem to make a difference, the visualisation seesm to be what controls it for instance if I use projectm it stays on longer than if I use goom! on the xbox contoller it's the white or black button, on my remote, it's the info button. I believe you can toggle that info between, not showing at all, only popping up at the beginning of each song and then fading away(not sure what the variable is there, maybe song duration?), and always on. - ronie - 2009-08-04 00:54 joebrady Wrote:I believe you can toggle that info between, not showing at all, only popping up at the beginning of each song and then fading away(not sure what the variable is there, maybe song duration?), and always on. wow, that's it! i always thought it was a simple show/hide toggle, but it seems to remember the last state. if the info disappears, just hit the info button and it will reappear. from then on it should be always visible....at least that's the way it's acting on my end. cheers joebrady! - nemulate - 2009-08-04 01:02 Lol yes thats it the i shortcut, you really don't know how may hours I spent trying to find this out!! Thanks
- whufclee - 2009-08-04 09:22 darknior Wrote:- What i must do to have these fucking icones lol I'm using the patched version on xbox and I'm still having a few problems with the flagging. TV Shows works perfect but Movies only seems to scan the first 5 entries (gets studio details for nearly all my movies but only first 5 for audio etc). I found a workaround but I've since given up as it was taking too long, if you want to try it then select up to 4 films you want scanned and link them to a tv show (any more than 4 and it will crash, make sure "extract media metadata information" is OFF or else xbmc will crash). Now go to the TV Show you linked them to and click on ALL Seasons. Enable "extract media metadata information" and more often than not it will scan the information and get the flags - you can then remove link to TV Shows. I found that a few of my movies still wouldn't scan using this method which made xbmc crash so you had to reboot and remove the offending movie link to TV Show. If you're thinking of using the patched version then I found the easiest way was just to completely re-scan my movies back into the library - there is another way which involves messing about with the database structure but I couldn't work that out. Good luck Off topic, one other thing I've noticed: If you have plot scrolling enabled the SLIDE View doesn't work properly, it shows details for the first movie but as soon as you move to the next one there are no details. Took me ages to work out how I'd managed to break the slide view! - Justcop - 2009-08-04 13:28 I have a feature request. I was wondering if you could add and a feature to detect if there is a network connection detected. I stream all my content from another pc elsewhere on the network. When turning on xbmc its not always apparent if this server is on. Perhaps there could be some kind of indicator. Maybe the best way would be to grey out videos which are not currently connected thid way it supports disconnections from multiple sources. - rudeboyx - 2009-08-04 16:25 Justcop Wrote:I have a feature request. From what I can tell you have to enable the clearart option in the skin settings and then point it to a folder. Well my folder is on my "Network Attached Storage" NAS and I'm unable to select it in the settings simply because there is no way to point to it from the Xbox it appears. I'm guessing on a PC you would simply map the drive and then click on the letter in the drive selection drop down. I created a map in the file manager, but when your looking at the clearart selection it doesn't appear. Any advice? Or is it all in the Xbox version and I'm rambling about nothing.
