I have the same problem and all those checkboxes are checked, the remote control still doesn't work. I posted about it before...

Thanks - Eternity_rules - 2010-02-08

for the support The_Alien!

I hooked up my original Xbox 1 (modded with a chip) and was able to remote control it within a couple of seconds!

I re-checked my PC with XBMC and now I was able to use remote control Huh
And yes, those options you kindly pointed out to me were ticked ;-)

Anyway. It is working now. Great!

The other thing is still not working is
>Pictures>pictures on my network>directory>file>open...

So, I can see the picture file names on the network, but tapping on a file name does not display th actual picture on screen. If I use the HERO as remote, I can browse to the lan disk and select a picture and it will display on-screen. With < and > I can scroll to the other pictures.

Any idea?

Thanks again !

@Nazgul: Double check your remote settings. Have a look at this post.

@Eternity_rules: Picture support isn't finished yet and the 0.6.3 has -if any- an early alpha stage of the support.

Folks with trouble to connect to the eventserver: what eventserver port are you using? Have you updated xbmc to 9.11 or are you using a clean install?

Are there any later builds than 0.6.3? I can't find any on the Google Code site.

0.6.3 is the latest version.

Firstly many thanks for everyones efforts so far, I nearly (and I apologise) nearly purchased a Ipod touch to do exactly what your software does! Laugh

Any ideas why my connection attempts are met with:

"illegal character in authority at index 15: http://10.0.2.8:8080"

Webservice is running, setup verfied as per: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=498320&postcount=1005

Its XBMC live, 9.11 r26018 Dec 24

Search has returned no guidance, your thoughts are welcomed...

Can you give us the android log of the error?
Easiest solution would be to download logcollector from the android market.

Plus Android device and version.

Looks fine on mine. You may just be confused by the fact that it is designed to look like that.

The latest apk is working pretty well. Still I'm not using the app. This is because of one reason. I can only start 1 song at a time in file mode (I don't use library mode at all for music). It's a lot easier to just stand up, walk to the television, grab the remote select the directory I want to play (or the file I want to start playing from in a directory) and press play. Apposed to having to select the next file to play every time after a song has stopped playing.

Is there any way you could implement this feature? It would be really helpfull Smile My tv would be off a lot more (+/- 90%)!

Any word on when the sub forum will be created again, so we can get out of this 100+page thread? Smile

It's in the works.

Whay can't I update - Eternity_rules - 2010-03-18

Have been using the stable version 0.6.3 for weeks and recently checked the site for updates.... And was happy to see a v0.6.6 released.

I downlaoded it and tried to install it on my HERO (original ROM) but it gave me a pop-up with "not able to install on this devise".

Is that correct or am I doing something wrong?

I asked the same question on the (currently nuked) sub-forum. You have to uninstall your old version before installing the new one.

From the (also currently nuked) post announcing the bump to version 0.6.6, I got the impression this requirement may have changed when updating from 0.6.5 onwards. I guess a dev would have to confirm this though - I jumped straight from 0.6.3 to 0.6.6, so had to uninstall...
