I got the ratings vids to work by doing a batch rescrape with media companion with the certification set to USA
http://billyad2000.darkbb.com/announcements-f1/
that should output ratings of "G" "PG" etc.
Then you have to refresh the videoDB for the changed nfo's to take effect.
My ratings videos are named "G.avi" "PG.avi" etc.
Hope that helps out. Smile

I tested it and everything ran great. The only problem I noticed was that what ever movie I picked, it goes over 2 movies and actually selects that one. Im sure it was discussed before but can I get some help? I tried to post a log but I couldnt figure out where it was stored nor could I copy and paste the log that I can see under the script options.

Are you sure you have encoded the DTS 5.1 right? When I play them I get Dolby from ac3 in XBMC. DTS 7.1 gives me DTS on my reciever.

DD 5.1 works as it should, and DD True HD 7.1 only plays left and right, since my reciever is not capable of True HD.

mccorkled Wrote:Thats what I thought. I thought I did that already too but Ill have to check Smile thanks Steve.

EDIT:

How can I generate a log? I still am having a few issues.

1. The ratings trailers arent playing. (I edited the .nfo to say "USA G" and I edited the rating video to "USA G.avi" and it doesnt work)

2. The Dolby and DTS trailers arent playing. (It says "Error: No Folder." Does this folder need to be named something in particular?

THANKS Nuka!!

With this plugin, do I HAVE TO, use a custon .nfo for the info, to be able to use DTS trailers and ratings trailers? Isn't the info that XBMC stores good enough?

rename the Rating Videos.
i.e. Rated G.mkv should be G.avi

Why would it matter if they are mkv or avi, or any other format? XBMC recognizes a ton of formats.

=\

that's what worked 100% for me. if it can be .mkv, then it just has to be named G, gather than rated g

xbmc recognizes many formats, but I believe the script is designed only to look for .avi files. you don't have to reencode anything, just rename the file

this is getting out of hand.

i've stated numerous times. ONLY RATING VIDEOS NEED TO HAVE AN .AVI EXTENSION.

accept it or don't use the script.

i'm making progress on the new version. i submitted a patch for xbmc, that will make the settings more manageable, if accepted and skinners use it.

No Im not sure. Thats why I needed help. Let me know what files are bunked and I will try to fix them.

For the ratings...
Of course have them named "G.avi" ect. I have tried many combination of G, USA G, USA:G in the DB and I have all my files named to "Rating".avi

what else can I try?

- Nuka1195 - 2010-01-13

doesn't juanflaco's diagram explain it?

Sorry Nuka, wasn't trying to make waves. I'm still fairly new to this thread and I don't have all the ins and outs memorized yet =\.

Ive also tried with...

"<certification>USA:G</certification>"
"<certification>USA G</certification>"
"<certification>G</certification>"

and Ive names my ratings to..

"USA G.avi"
"G.avi"

Im using Windows 7 too. Maybe just adding .avi to the end of the file name isnt the same as if it was in Windows XP?

Nuka1195 Wrote:therms if you want you could add:

<quality>standard</quality> , where the values could be standard, 480p, 720p, 1080p. so i can filter on that also. otherwise should work.

that's one i forgot.

Added.

- Nuka1195 - 2010-01-13

mccorkled i said your database. but, just goto a movie in xbmc library that doesn't play a rating url and view movie information. what does the mpaa rating say.

mccorkled Wrote:http://pastebin.com/m49d80a1d

Hi mccorkled, problem is your <mpaa /> tag is blank, your ratings info is in a tag called <certification>G</certification>, the script and the database is looking for MPAA.
<mpaa>G</mpaa>
