this update will need http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/9918 patch for the settings to work correctly.

would anybody like to test the settings to see how they work on an unpatched xbmc.

what are people who use this and it is important, how do you feel about patching your own xbmc? the settings can not be written to work correctly with current xbmc, but still may be useable.

this is a major improvement in my oppinion. you can mix videos/with images for any of the playlist items except obviously feature presentation and dolby/dts videos. command actions, so you x10 users can dim the lghts, with the ability to run the command on pause. so in theory you could raise the lights, then an intermission slideshow or videos could play.

highly customizable. the only limits really are i limit it to 15 playlist items, but that could be increased.

the beta won't be ready for a while, but i am curios about the settings and if anybody has suggestions on what may be missing.

Hi Nukka,

Can't really speak for everyone, but can for myself.

I typically run the latest nightly builds, maybe updating once or twice a week. I have no problem though modifying the code to support the script to test it, though think obviously there will be a bigger following if it fits into the current Dharma methodology, if that's even possible.

When I used the script back in the Atlantis days, I was very happy to have it run trivia with a music bed for xx minutes (I changed the script because sometimes I wanted only a 1-5 minute trivia just to show it off, sometimes you just want to get to the movie faster). Then after the trivia, a separate "coming attractions" bumper, followed by a random pull of trailers (I gave up on apple's HD streaming ability so just had it picking random from my downloaded trailers folder which I try to keep up to date). After that, a "feature presentation" video and then the film.

I loved how it worked with the Aeon script that there was a "cinema" button I could push, instead of play, sort of a "play with HTE" option vs a basic play option which just started the film.

Those were the basics that I loved, if that could be back in a Dharma version I'd be a super happy camper. I can honestly say this is the script I miss the most in the new XBMC, I really used to love it when it worked. So thanks for any work you are doing to attempt to port it.

BTW - While the ability to also dim the lights down a bit for trailers, then further when the actual film starts, would be REALLY REALLY cool I wouldn't kill yourself on that until the basics are done. Similarly, to have it play slides and raise lights on a pause button press, then resume the feature on unpause, would be really cool, I think that's a later feature to add once the basics work again.

Hi

As with BDPNA, I usually update XBMC once or twice a week and I don't have any problems updating the code to make HTE work. Really missesd HTE as it does give the HTPC the WOW factor when people come over to watch movies.

Looking forward to the beta.

Went to look at the patch. Glad to help test but unsure exactly what you are looking for.

i just need you to test without patching xbmc, to see how difficult it is or if some settings don't show. i could do it my self by reverting, but i won't use it that way so i need other peoples feedback.

bdpna, all that is possible. i don't have x10 or homeseer or any of that, so you'll have to write the modules. but the support is there.

i'll upload the settings maybe tomorrow after i clean them up a little and post screenshots how it's suppose to look/work.

- noahE - 2010-09-06

any news on a new version of ATD? or something similar?

I assume you would like us to look at the demonstration "script.xbmc.lyrics". If so, what type of feedback are you looking for?

- Nuka1195 - 2010-09-06

the patch i linked to is outdated again Smile, i don't need you to test that.

grab http://xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/svn/packages/XBMC.zip this is the scripts settings.

now without patching your xbmc. install the above addon. look for it in addon settings/program addon. then just check out the settings.

the settings have changed some, but basically i want you to go to playlist and play with it.

how it should look is, when you select clip(s) and that item is highlighted you will get the other options. Image

it should hide the other options when they are not selected. what will probably happen is all options will always show and options that don't apply will show.

i just want to know if it's usable. if is not. then either you will have to patch your xbmc, with an updated patch or team xbmc will have to include the rest of my patch. i can not do the settings like they are suppose to with current xbmc.

- Nuka1195 - 2010-09-06

plus any feedback for settings, layout wording. keep in mind the settings have changed since that ss.

- ijourneaux - 2010-09-07

Nuka1195

Is the zip file you linked to correct. It includes a copy of XBMC.EXE dated May2010 and a copy of guisettings.xml.

Take Care

- Nuka1195 - 2010-09-07

no.

try http://xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/svn/packages/script.cinema.zip

highlighted the wrong file.

Hi Nuka1195

Thanks or getting this up and going, been looking forward to it.

running svn 33577 on linux 10.04.1 32 bit crashes everytime i go to the maintenance tab in settings. other settings seem ok so far

http://pastebin.com/ddNRit6g for debug log

- Nuka1195 - 2010-09-07

crashing in maintenance tab probably is one of the bug fixes in the patch did not get applied.

can you screenshot the playlist tab, is it usable.
