even xbox users are saying the skin runs pretty smooth.

it must be on my side then. Maybe a restart would be a good idea... Smile

Amet Wrote:I have just been testing with Bram, he is on XBOX over Samba. The solution is to use OpenSubtitles_OSD_XBOX, that version disables hash search for smb drives.
It will search by name, and if you have a movies stored locally it will do a hash search as well.

I am sorry about that but it is out of my control, apparently it is a known problem with XBOX. Sad

Well not good news Sad . What it would help would be to be able manually entering the search string and also feature like in scarper searching 'Use folder name as search string'. And maybe also have the abillity to turn off and on the hash searching for amb and local files.

Cheers

sync problems - marv_el - 2009-08-20

i tried this plugin because i often watch english videos (i am a german native speaker), and i am totally excited about this feature to display subtitles. for some reason, the subtitles are always out of sync, altho the movies (played locally or by stream) are ripped correctly.
the delay is often 20 to 30 seconds, so i even can't adjust it by using the "subtitle offset", which only can adjust 10 sec.
i don't know how the subtitle sync work and what i can do to solve it, but if i could adjust the "subtitle offset" by more than 10 seconds, this would help me further. any ideas?

is it possible to search manually for some titles? when i stream a content and want to find a subtitle through your plugin, it often returns no results, because streaming contents have weird filenames.

hope i get it to work soon, it rocks.

greets

Offset has nothing to do with this plugin.
In the subtitle file the frames numbers are listed and then shows the text. Example from frame number 12000 - 12300 'How do you do?' So if the frame number is not matched with subtitles they are then out sync.
So the solution is to download the right subtitles. To this comes because there are so many releases for just one film (cam, screener, dvdrip,...., ripped in pal, ntsc,..)

Subtitle offset greater then 10sec would be feature request for xbmc developer and not for this plugin.

Cheers

Isn't that already implemente with advanced settings?

From: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Advancedsettings.xml#.3Cvideo.3E

Quote: <subsdelayrange>10</subsdelayrange> <!-- Delay range for subtitles, in seconds. -->
<audiodelayrange>10</audiodelayrange> <!-- Delay range for audio/video sync, in seconds. -->

sorry, yes you are right. it's possible to set it in advancedsettings.xml!

thanks for your help.

you are playing a rar file....

Subtitle Folder: [rar://D%3a%5cVideo%5cMovies%5cBatman%2eBegins%2e2005%2e720p%2eHDDVD%2ex264%2ePROPER%2dCYBERMEN%5ccm%2dbb%2erar]

in that case please set the custom subtitle folder.

To reset current settings run the script from Scripts menu and select "yes" when asked if you want to reset to defaults.

When you run the script again from OSD it will ask for languages , preferred service and the custom folder, set the custom folder and it should be ok....

In the next release I will add the check for rar files and you will be asked for custom location in case you are playing one.

Let me know if that solves it for you

That soved it! Thanks!

However if you press cancel when trying to set custom path. The script does not run anymore.

Better would be: if not custom path set before execution of script then...

or even better:

if custom path set then check valid path...

Again thanks for your help

No problems, glad I could help Smile

It will be fixed in the next release, I am working on it.

In the meantime if you, or anyone else, would like to help with translating this script please PM me and I will send the instructions.

Thanks

Love it! (if i can get it working)

http://pastebin.com/m720d47

windows vista. stops working on downloading OR Finished downloading...please wait.

I use C:\ondertitels\ for custom folder (set in both xbmc and script)
I see a subtitle.zip (in it the required files) file and file named subtitle.b64

I can translate the script to dutch if you like. Just send me whatever you need to send me. (infy @ [<3xbmc] pwnz.it)

it seems that it fails unziping the file. It happens sometimes when the file is not "zip" but rather the error from the website.

I cant see much from the log, try it again couple of times and then send me the log. Unfortunately I dont see any error msgs. close the script before you copy the log.

http://www.exhibit-a.co.za/XBMC/translation.zip is the file that needs translation.Instructions are inside.

My e-mail is also there please send me the zip file that you downloaded and subtitle.b64 file as well.
