- TREX6662k5 - 2009-10-07 Updated to the latest SVN and my problems are gone. I get sound, doesn't crash after a few seconds and bit rate, channels and other info is now correctly reported. WMV with WMAPro and VC1 I'll be thinking of spiff later... :p - rodalpho - 2009-10-07 Trex, your WMV files play now? All of them? I saw no improvement at all. - TREX6662k5 - 2009-10-08 I only have around 2. Both of them are WMAPro encoded with VC1. - rodalpho - 2009-10-08 Ahh, OK. So then WMAPro audio is fixed with the FFMPEG update, but WMV definitely isn't. - -=Rapidfire=- - 2009-10-08 Hi, is there a "workaround" or something i can do? Does compiling XBMC with the external libraries option help? Or can i use an external player to play such (wma) video files...:confused2: Sorry for my bad english... - spiff - 2009-10-08 truely bad english. so bad you can't even understand whats written it seems. - -=Rapidfire=- - 2009-10-08 Nice answer... I think i've read nearly the whole wiki and there is not much information about a solution that works. So i tried to become an answer in a problem relevant thread. - spiff - 2009-10-08 if you had read the thread you would have seen that i have just updated ffmpeg and that wmapro files now play perfectly fine! - -=Rapidfire=- - 2009-10-08 Ok, thanks for the information. I will give it a try. - erhnam - 2009-10-12 Any news around this? Anyone tried with the latest r23592 release? - pat1975 - 2009-10-12 HI! Sorry for perhaps dumb question... Compiled two days ago and I have now problems playing VC-1 coded HD-Films (BD-rips). For example Iron Man or X-Men. h264 is no problem. Do I have the same problem like you all? Regards, Patrick - rodalpho - 2009-10-12 I believe VC-1 is actually supposed to work, unlike WMV. They're very similar, but VC-1 and WMV are slightly different; VC-1 uses the advanced profile and WMV is simple/main profile. That's my understanding, anyway. It can be somewhat confusing. After looking it up, simple/main video files (basically WMVs) are valid VC-1 targets as well, so there's definite overlap. My guess would be that simple/main is broken and advanced works. - pat1975 - 2009-10-12 Thanks rodalpho! Could you (or someone else) please test a BD-rip in VC-1 (like I said Iron Man or X-Men (1/2/3) i.e.) to confirm that VC-1 playback is ok or broken. Thanks, Patrick - lefty420 - 2009-10-14 Yeah my wmv's have stoped working they used to work fine. - rodalpho - 2009-10-14 WMVs haven't worked "fine" for well over an entire year. |
