If I read right this black bar is there when playing video and not on the configuration/home pages, so have you tried altering the Video scaling method from the OSD? I ask because if I use Bicubic the video drops down to bottom of the screen and can't be calibrated, Bilinear/Nearest Neighbour restores it to full screen. I'm sure you must have done but thought it worth mentioning. - ShabbyDog - 2009-09-18 13:40 Just installed 22951dx version to try it out and here's my impression after a few minutes of tinkering. Playback is smoother than it has ever been. 24fps, 25fps, 30fps, whatever I throw at it plays seemingly smooth. Whenever I start a video my Windows taskbar shows over the video for a little while at the start of the video. On some videos I get black bars on the left and right hand of the screen. After my quick check it seems this happens to videos not using the native width of the display. The display is set up at 1920x1080@60hz and the videos that gives me black bars are 1280 in width. Videos with 1920 width does fill the screen nicely. Of course if anyone has any ideas on how to fix my little problems I would be real happy. ![]() Well, I went back to a earlier build now when I had problems with the music player in both the dx and gl versions of build 22951 would close XBMC to desktop when skipping songs. - jochenz - 2009-09-18 20:17 jochenz Wrote:installed rev 22781-dx of xbmc today I have to get back on my review. when playing AVI files (XVID) the playback is sometimes choppy and will sometimes for no reason stop, while sound continues normally. is there any changes in playback of AVI files in newer builds? - azido - 2009-09-19 02:34 ezhik Wrote:If I read right this black bar is there when playing video and not on the configuration/home pages, so have you tried altering the Video scaling method from the OSD? I'm sure you must have done but thought it worth mentioning. no, it appears for the complete gui, too - as soon as i try to use fullscreen instead of windowed xbmc. according to guisettings.xml it uses a smaller screen dimension for fullscreen that it actually is to render fullscreen, and i cannot overcome this by using xbmcs internal screen calibration setup/overscan methods. fullscreen fits perfectly on my pc monitor (screen 1) though. Hi-Res JPG photo problem - pinn1 - 2009-09-19 03:38 FYI So far none of the DX versions will display my 10megpix camera JPG photos (it does display the thumbnails however). It does properly display my older 8megpix camera JPG photos. Previous GL versions had no problem displaying the 10 meg pixel photos. - carmenm - 2009-09-19 11:36 Hi, As a MP user and complete fan of MPC-HC codecs i was really happy to see XBMC-dx. I got a version but now i am not even sure it uses directx. I tried Graphstudio to connect to the graph while plyaing without any success. So i am assuming i am still using GL. Is there a special command line argument i need to use? What renderer is used? Thanks - jmarshall - 2009-09-19 12:32 DirectX != DirectShow. XBMC is not planning to use DirectShow (i.e. external codecs) at all. Cheers, Jonathan - carmenm - 2009-09-19 13:43 Damn you are right ! - azido - 2009-09-19 14:03 jmarshall Wrote:DirectX != DirectShow. so that means it will still render video using ffmpeg, right? just the gui will use directx/3d. - Hitcher - 2009-09-19 14:41 How do you set the Windowed resolution in these builds? I've tried editing the guisettings.xml but they overwritten each time I load. I want to run at 1280x720 but it displays ay 720x480. |
