- Ben8472 - 2009-10-27 10:17 i'm gonna collect a bit more info and file a bug report. i can't really think of anything else to try other than trying out another computer and/or receiver. - frozenice - 2009-10-27 10:26 First i thought that must be a problem with our AMP, but my WD TV & HDX1000 worked fine with my AMP. Must be a bug in xbmc etc.
- Ben8472 - 2009-10-27 10:48 i just wonder why i never noticed it with dd and my old amp. i think on DTS tracks its more noticeable, the cut is longer, on DD it might just be a "plop" i allready lost a ton of sleep over this, hopefully someone can say why it happens ![]() Edit: People on the Mac osX Fork seem to have simmilar/same problems: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php?/topic/4075-audio-dropout-with-dts/page__st__40__s__61b34a26de267e35ae216e65831d4f2c - frozenice - 2009-10-27 19:46 I think we should collect some debug infos and create a xbmc bug report
- Ben8472 - 2009-10-27 20:30 got myself a WDTV to test, 1a perfect playback, no sound cuts or anything. 8( i tried if deinstalling pulseaudio helps (doesn't) what we tried so far - update to latest svn - update nvidia to 190 - tried out various xserver configs - tried out different video files and checked back with another video device that the AMP is allright. - updated alsa to 1.0.20 - removed pulsaudio (i think it got worse after i did that, more often drops) - updated to karmic kernel - updated alsa to .21/21a - BIOS Setting: 'Advance Path' is DISABLED please add to list ... - frozenice - 2009-10-27 20:44 you wrote that you updated your Alsa Version. So we should add this, too ![]() //Edit: I'm watching at this moment another dvb record, Audio Cut again see the Debug Log: Quote:20:23:19 T:2883787664 M:1442861056 DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: Discontinuty - was:5037361667.740889, should be:5037351364.739177, error:-10303.001712 here another cut Quote:20:33:49 T:2883787664 M:1438076928 DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: Discontinuty - was:5667270438.250452, should be:5667260050.529232, error:-10387.721220 When the ERROR: GetDelay - snd_pcm_delay, alsa error: -32 - Broken pipe Message comes up die Signal Cuts for ~1second and returns - Ben8472 - 2009-10-28 00:35 these guys seem to have the same problem and different solution approaches http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=57526 i will definitly try with karmic in 2 days ![]() edit: karmic kernel & alsa update to .21 didnt help, still having cuts
- amarga - 2009-10-28 06:10 I had the same issue with my ION Zotac mb -- going to the BIOS and make sure the 'Advance Path' is DISABLED in the advanced options. Could you give it a shot? I was getting those 'cracks' on SPDIF signal all the time (depending on the content, it was ranging from every 5 secs to every 2 mins) and it was very annoying. Now, it works like a charm
- Ben8472 - 2009-10-28 09:44 @amarga: thanks for the suggestion just tried it out: still having sound drops maybe was there anything else you changed? same issue - alumin - 2009-10-28 12:36 I have the same issue when it comes to sound drops: Ubuntu Jaunty, XBMC SVN (a few days old), ALSA v1.0.21, e-mu 1820 soundcard. Other sound issues are: Load pop when booting. No sound when resuming from standby (S3). |
