iMON - Lirc Porblem - TimUx - 2009-10-17
Hi all,
first i have to say sorry for my bad english.
I'am an hardcore VDR user and like to test XBMC PVR.
I've installed ubuntu karmic + vdr + xbmc pvr (SVN:23356).
My pc case has an iMon IR/LCD Display with an standard remot (rm200 or somthing else)
The display and ir works fine with irw and vdr native.

In XBMC, there happens nothing.
LIRC was started succesfully und my lircmap/keymap was loaded.

Has anyone an idea?
I searched and read so many threads with similiar problems, but i've found no solution.
Thanks TimUx

I gave up on imon long ago, i popped up an mce remote, but i still use the imon as an lcd display. If you need help how to do it i can send you a guide.
- TimUx - 2009-10-18
But its is strange.
The remote control works.
irw and vdr has no problems.
The debug log of XBMC shows that lirc works.
the right button names and remot name where shown at the xbmc log.
Evenrything seems to be OK.

Hi alanwww1
I would like the guide for the lcd. Thanks!

I really suggest using mce instead of imon. I think one can get one for 20 €.
Ritzie, i will put up this guide as a new thread so everyone can learn about it. It is a little bit easier if you have Karmic installed, but it can be solved also in Jaunty.

I have the same remote, and the following seems to work(haven't used in about 3 weeks). I'm sure they need some fine tuning, but hopefully they will help you out some.

Sorry it is 3 posts, but I wasn't sure what else to do with such a long file?

Ritzie, i will put up this guide as a new thread so everyone can learn about it. It is a little bit easier if you have Karmic installed, but it can be solved also in Jaunty.
Thank you Alanwww1!! I have jaunty installed but Ill have to check out Karmic. Thanks again.

Hi Mjwitter;
thanks for your config.
So,
the iMON IR and RM200 definitely works with xbmc.
Its a config Problem, I think.
I Will try to map alle LIRC Buttons as "universalremote".
I'm not at home the next two Days. I will post here my testing resulsts.
Greeds Timo

hi,
i have a silverstone ml02 with imod ir receiver /lcd and imod remote. irw works fine:
0100008000000000 01 Left iMON-PAD
0100008000000000 02 Left iMON-PAD
0100008000000000 03 Left iMON-PAD
0100008000000000 04 Left iMON-PAD
0100008000000000 00 Left iMON-PAD
0100008000000000 01 Left iMON-PAD
0100007f00000000 00 Right iMON-PAD
01007f0000000000 00 Down iMON-PAD
01007f0000000000 00 Down iMON-PAD
01007f0000000000 01 Down iMON-PAD
01007f0000000000 00 Down iMON-PAD
but i can't get it to work in xbmc. lircmap problem? but, i have to be honest, i don't like the imon remote at all. the buttons are to small (or my fingers to fat ;-))
i would like to use my old/good xbox remote, so @alanwww, could you please send me your guide on settings up imon receiver with a mce remote (i guess changing it to a xbox remote will not be rocket science).
Thanks

My guide will use Imon vfd with mce remote receiver.
You have to buy an mce remote receiver after that you can use it's own remote or use the xbox remote with it.
I'll post the guide today or tomorow.

i see. hmm, is the imon receiver not universal? i mean, with a xbox dvd remote lircd.conf it should transcode the send ir signals. Or am i wrong?
