KoTiX Wrote:I already answered this some time ago:
The movieplayer site use its own search method encoded with base64 and unfortunately xbmc cannot handle it yet( I already asked to some devs to implement it but with no answer).
So the scraper doesn't use the mp search engine but it use Google instead, and the result is that some of the movies even if they are present on the site, cannot be found (specially the older ones).
My suggestion is to use another scraper for your missing movies like "mymovies".
Hope this can help you with your 1000+ movies.

Thanks for the reply!Let's wait for some good news from Stiff!

Another question: is it possible to make the scraper to download the trailer? I use this feature a lot, and I'm worried what if movieplayer changes something...

Do you have a PayPal account for donations? You made a great job, man, my library is getting so nice Wink

cheers

I'm glad you like the scraper, actually you can just watch the trailers, you cannot save them.
BTW I'm still on vacation right now, i'll be back on Friday.
i'll probably put my paypal account on first post if you or anybody else wish to donate.
Cheers Smile

Are there any plan to make an option to download the trailers? After that, and after xbmc gets base64 support, the scraper is a huge step, and I'm glad to offer you some beers for your hard work Wink

Have a nice holiday! (-7days to mine Wink)

Hi KoTiX, thanks a lot for your great job!
Just one question: I'm trying to avoid the search issue for the unmatching movies by setting directly the movieplayer page url in a .nfo file, but without success; everytime the popup to select from standard search results comes up! Is this feature supported by your scraper?

Just as an example, I'm trying to add this movie to my library:

http://www.movieplayer.it/film/1569/out-of-time/

it's also available from google search (result number 11):

http://www.google.it/search?q=%22out+of+time%22+site:movieplayer.it&hl=it&lr=&as_qdr=all&prmd=v&ei=JpF1TPDNJdyT4gaGi5mBBg&start=10&sa=N

Any help apreciated!

(fyi, I'm using the last update from the repository on Dharma Pre r33040 (23 Aug))

The .nfo feature is in the scraper but I don't know if it's still working right, has been a while that i don't use it and/or I export my database. I'll check it tonight.

Cheers Smile

EDIT: I just updated my git repository with a small modification to the search url (the link is in the first post too) that greatly improve the movie search. Can somebody download and update it manually and report back how it goes?
Tnx Smile

as far as I know for my experience generally those movies can be found by the scraper using the original name

scraper for italian anime - gatto_mannaro - 2010-08-29 12:00

hello!
sorry for this offtopic question, but considering that users here are almost italian I would like to know your opinion.
I'm looking for a good scraper in italian for anime. This one is fantastic for movies, but movieplayer archive lacks in the home video anime (let's say.. typical anime for small children distributed almost on the home video circuit... i.e. scooby doo, low profile disney cartoons and so on).
Do you know a good archive for these titles? generally they are present on filmup but I think that there is not a scraper for this site... anything else?
thanx alot and regards!!!

My son is too young right now for watching cartoons, it's only 8 months old, but I guess It's better if I start thinking to take care of them too Tongue
I don't know a good italian site for anime and toons but if you think filmup is good enought I'll be happy to make the scraper.
Let's see btw what the other italian users think about it.

how can I solve this problem?

The film is "Moon (2009)" but the scraper only found "New Moon: Twilight Saga (2009)" Sad

Doing a manual search in xbmc, "New Moon: Twilight Saga (2009)" is the first and "Moon (2009)" is the second in the list, nothing wrong with it.
Are you sure you are using a recent version of the scraper?

Hi, not 100% sure that's a scraper problem, but when I try to change fanart ("get fanart" button), and chose one from the list, sometimes the image won't download (progress bar stay at 0% than disappear). This seems to happen only for some fanarts images (for the same movie), others downloads corectly.

From log I read:
Code:
00:02:28 T:140242275260176 M:1357234176   ERROR: CFileCurl::CReadState::Open, didn't get any data from stream.
00:02:28 T:140242686281760 M:1357234176   ERROR: DeleteFile - cant delete file </home/xbmc/.xbmc/temp/fanart_download.jpg>. trying lower case </home/xbmc/.xbmc/temp/fanart_download.jpg>

I'm on svn 33382

Anybody with the same issue on recent svn? I've recently updated xbmc and before the last update everything was working well.

Thanks!

It should'nt be a scraper problem, does this happen with the tmdb or the movieplayer.it fanarts?

- snake111 - 2010-09-02 14:54

How can I know if the fanart comes from movieplayer or tmdb?

I tried using mymovies scraper and same error, will try with tmdb, thanks.
