Installed the XBMC Alpha version. the time is set the same way as mentioned in that post. you just have to link the correct file. PHP Code: sudo ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/London /etc/localtime navigation sounds have been turned off by developers until some issues can be sorted out. - jabba_29 - 2009-11-10 Hi, thanks. Perhaps I didn't explain this issue enough. Interesting about the sound stuff. Was just hunting how to turn it on again.. when I can across this thread. Anyway, I tried the way mentioned above , sure that's how I did it last time. This time though I get the following error: Code: sudo: ln: command not found I am using a previous patchstick but used command lines as previously mentioned to get the latest info. - amet - 2009-11-10 jabba_29 Wrote:Hi, thanks. I am not sure if PHP Code: sudo cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/London /etc/localtime will work... no harm in trying - jabba_29 - 2009-11-10 Thanks, but I had tried that already: Code: sudo: cp: command not found Bizarre, some shell commands have worked though ... obviously. - davilla - 2009-11-10 jabba_29 Wrote:Thanks, but I had tried that already: echo $PATH I saw somewhere that /usr/sbin is not present and should be present. - Riderzzz - 2009-11-10 I've patched succesfully the 3.0.1 and runnning xbmc Camelot. Now all seems to be fine except changes to the joystick.AppleRemote.xml will not change anything. It looks like he is getting his info from another file. Now i did let apple tv's frontrow learn a new remote and those buttons works good in xbmc. Anyone else having this issue regarding the keymap? Mike Followed directions XBMC error! - mique - 2009-11-11 I followed the directions in this forum and after downloading XBMC from the Launcher menu as directed, it successfully downloads and updates and askes me to press Play to return to the home screen. Everything look good, but when I select XBMC I get an error message which asks me to press play to reboot my Atv. Any one have any Ideas? I appreciate any suggestions. Code: bash-2.05b$ echo $PATH Being a MAC user for about a week now, this is all like Greek to me. Off to Google now how to add this without f**king everything else up. - jabba_29 - 2009-11-11 Quick Google came up with the following, posting results for anyone as dumb as me for future reference. To add sbin Code: bash-2.05b$ echo $PATH I then tried the following, but I think it failed as the file existed. Code: bash-2.05b$ sudo ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Helsinki /etc/localtime This worked though I think, Don't have access to my ATV to check just now... Code: sudo cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Helsinki /etc/localtime In the end I went for the 'ln' command instead after removing the symbolic link. Worked well, though PATH doesn't save...but that belongs in another form - amet - 2009-11-11 jabba_29 Wrote:Quick Google came up with the following, it wont let you link(ln) if the file exists you can try: Code: sudo rm /etc/localtime nevertheless, it should work with the "cp" as well. - jabba_29 - 2009-11-11 Yes, that's what I did in the end. Would add to rep but I need to spread the love more. - jpf55 - 2009-11-12 I just finished updating 2 AppleTV to 3.0.1 using launcher 3.2b3 In both cases, I had to restore to factory and update again to 3.0.1 The first is an original 1.0 and the second is a 2.0. In the first case is wasn't so bad because all my movies and shows were on an external drive but for the second one I had to backup everything (4hours) and then restore and upgrade again to 3.0.1. Before restoring, I tried recreating the patchstick 3 different ways. Ultimately, I used atvUSB-creator but maybe on a clean restore the other ones would have worked also. Anyway, XBMC is back up in all its glory and I even have a couple of extras I did not expect. Now, both ATVs are accessible either through a composite connection, Apple Remote Desktop or Screen Sharing in Leopard. Many thanks to all who work on this amazing project. - feikenberg - 2009-11-12 How did you enable screen sharing? - Boseman - 2009-11-13 Requires Remote Desktop/VNC on the ATV. Turns out this is one of the items that went away past the ATV 1.0 release. So one approach is the NitoTV Smart Install with the recovery.dmg 1.0.
