Athanatos875 Wrote:Hello. This is my first post on here. I started using Boxee a while ago and hated it and I decided to try XBMC. So far, I love it. I just recently tried your build 26998. I am having issues playing .ts files. Every .ts file will not work. I can play other files (including .mkv files) with hardware acceleration.

I suspect that this is a codec issue of some sort. Initially, I could not play anything until I registered the .ax files in "XBMC\system\players\dsplayer". I have tried to get this to work with and without a installed copy of ffdshow and nothing I do will work.

Here is my log:
http://pastebin.com/mdb9bdd1

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Update: I tried the latest build and now I have audio but no video. Help!

No one has any ideas about my problem? Sorry to be such a pain, but I really want to use dsplayer as my primary player.

How would I go about configuring DSPlayer so that it utilizes the CoreAVC codec?

I know about the xml thing.....but I found on my system (winxp), all I had to do was install cccp, switch off all video codecs in the cccp settings....install coreavc 2...set as preferred decoder in coreavc.... play a movie with mpc that comes with cccp....coreavc is being used (icon in the tray). Exit. Start XBMC, and from then on, idsplayer uses that combo. Dont know if that helps

Have you tried to install the cccp codec pack?

im not really sure about what is the problem your facing.

get that package and extract them in the dsplayer in your xbmc directory
at example:"c:\program files\xbmc\system\players\dsplayer" tell me if its fixing the bug

Hi Tiben,

Sorry to be a pain, but did you get a chance to take a look at the last log I posted?

Cheers

This is really complex to fix in term of coding, i have to consider in term of nanosec the vertical syncro, the draw time of the xbmc gui, and the syncro of the video with the audio getting everything together is quite something

Ansyhrrian Wrote:Oops. I forgot I was running Win 7N, which didn't have Win media player. I installed the hotfix, and media player is now installed.

However, still having problems.

See pastebin here.

The big problem is pages upon pages (if I let it run) of this error:

Anyone seen this? Is this related to the sound output? The video?

I am streaming my videos from a network server...perhaps that's the issue?

Same error here.
Vista 32bits, ati radeon 4670.
I've got the latest build.

Where is the problem?

Thanks

Thank you for the replies. I have tried both and I still only get audio and no video. These .ts files work great in MPC-HC and in WMP just not in XBMC for some reason. I posted a log with all of the debug information below. Any other ideas?

Are they HD .ts files ?

xbmc on acer questions - Happytobehere - 2010-01-26

New to this forum. Have tried to read a bunch but still have some basic questiosn I'm hoping someone can answer.

Just reinstalled the current, I believe, Rev26998-dx version. Running xp on the Acer Revo. Made the XML mod to use DSPlayer. Here are my questions/notes.

All of this is around SD content.

1. How can I tell if the xbmc is using the DSPlayer when I am playing content?
2. I have tried non-muxed .vob's and the same files as a single .mpg with this build. 2 things: 1) the .vob was not smooth while the .mpg was (is that expected or a suprise) 2) in library mode until the .vob is played and shows that it as digital (DD, DTS, etc) audio the thumb of the movie doens't show it while the .mpg shows it right away. Is that expected?

That's all for now. Thanks in advance for your help.

Happy.

Quick question on this, does DSplayer always default to using the filters located in the dsplayer directory or will it use the filters if they are registered already (from a different directory)?

For instance, I already had MPC video codec, ffdshow audio and MPC's matroska splitter registered using regsvr32. Which one will take priority in DSPlayer?

Thanks

- Mallet21 - 2010-01-26

A lot of people are talking about 'registering filters / decoders'........I was under the impression that this was not required as everything was self contained within DSplayer.

Am I incorrect in my understanding of how this works?

Were you able to replicate the problem? It seems like I'm only able to get good results if I set my desktop resolution to 1920x1080 @ 24Hz. Different resolutions and/or refresh rates produces what I think is judder. Were you able to replicate that?

Got stuck on the bottom of the last page so bump

Dunno if this has been reported in any way before but there seems to be a problem when setting which sound device you want to use. Want to use the digital output on a soundcard that is not set as default in Win7. With dsplayer it won't open the file (once it did open the file with black screen and sound player on default sound device).

My current settings work when using "Play with dvdplayer". And if I change the default sound device in Win7 dsplayer works as expected.
