Ok....I havent read all 200 odd pages...(infact I only got to page 9 :o) but what I can gather this is a must have and will play back movies "better" than my current setup - r28256. And by better I mean it will allow my GT220 to do the work

Is that the gist of it ?

just for the fun of it i tried playing the bird scene from planet earth.
it seemed fine, but the movie "stoppet" a few timws (at least the image did).

when i tried it in mpc hc the image was fine
cpu around 20%

Just a hint to new forum members (and this works for *all* forums, not just xbmc/dsplayer):

Read them BACKWARDS! (ie, start at the newest page, and read back at least 10 pages or more) - that will give you a quick "state of the union" on most current issues. Starting to read from Page 1 and giving up at page 9 in a 200~300 page thread is pointless, all you're reading about is old history that's been long since outdated.

[edit]: BTW, yes, dsplayer is intended to allow DXVA capable cards to do hardware decoding using a properly configured dxva capable directshow filter. If this sounds greek to you, then read more and more of the forum, use the search tool, etc. How to configure ffdshow (one of the several directshow filters you can use) for dxva playback has been explained *dozens and dozens* of times already, ad-nausea.

Cheers

a fake full screen is the same thing as windowed but the window is the size of the screen

Can anyone tell me where i can download the much heralded 28016 version?

Been on the download nightly page and theres only a link for the 28019.

I've got Windows 64bit on a revo 3610 and am just basically looking for a stable media player that will play 720p (not got any 1080p) and display fancy fanart in 720p.

Anyone else have the issue where files won't play?

Tonight I was watching some files, no problems. Shut my TV off (computer stays on all the time), and a couple hours later turned it back on to watch something. Clicked on the title, and the file opened for a split second, then went back to the library. Tried multiple files, same result. After a computer restart, everything works fine again.

Last time it happened I checked the debug log and I saw somthing like "CDSGraph::HandleGraphEvent EC_ERRORABORT" followed by an error code

Running Win7 x64 with rev 28016 (sorry, no debug log-next time it happens I'll post one)
