Hi Tiben,

Here is some early feedback on latest version 28978!

I went to test a few mkv's and they dont play in this version, here is the log for that build

http://pastebin.com/yBJdp1A7

I also tried build 28772 and mkv's work in this, log of this build below

http://pastebin.com/H39DG9iR

Everything is left as default install, havent touched any settings in either build.

Hope this helps

Edit: Maybe Tiben has changed the dsfilterconfig.xml on his side for testing and forgot to revert it back. Check that out Wink You are using XBMC in portable mode, delete the dsfilterconfig in the userdata and everything will work. Tiben has forgot to remove it

Blinkseb had same issue with AC3filter.. I had to install it. It seems that xbmc is not using dsfilterconfig.xml as even though i dont use ac3filter it still tried to use it and also i have ffdshow selected in config file but i t tries to use mpc. Other than that great job.

Of course it's using dsfilterconfig. Check both on userdata & players/dsplayer folder. It has to be a reference to ac3filter somewhere.

So do we need to add/install anything else besides what comes in the build.exe?

- blinkseb - 2010-04-02

No, but it's weird. I've installed it on my side and everything works great. In case of, delete the folder userdata in the XBMC root directory (C:\Program Files\XBMC)

Will do a clean install from scratch tonight (delete all XBMC related files)

You guys have nailed it for me with this build - absolutely superb work - wish I had been a little more patient and waited for the 'official' build - still had no success building my own, but I don't care anymore.

Vista x86, ATI HD4670, CCC 10.3 drivers - everything working as it should - very low CPU usage, subtitles with mpc video renderer, superb picture quality - initial impressions very very good, only issue and I'm being picky here, but is, or will there be a way to change the render of the subtitle - they appear a little 'stretched' to me.

Ok, uploading a new build with dsfilterconfig.xml back to normal. If you have anyproblem, please delete the dsfilterconfig.xml in your userdata folder!

Don't forget that subtitle support is very alpha as for now! I'll look at it, there are some tweaks to do i've not looked at right now

Appreciate that and everything both of you have achieved - as I said purely nitpicking - my anal retentive side coming out.

Chopping and changing a lot with builds etc, has its own drawbacks - constant changing and tinkering with dsplayerfilter configs - did I read somewhere in the dim and distant past that these could be saved to appdata\xbmc folder somewhere - tried a search but uncovered nothing?

By the way thanks for the assistance with compilation issues - not a happy ending, so I think I will leave it to the experts in future.
