Looking for some suggestions/advice. I installed XBMC build 29443 w/DSPlayer found here.

No matter what I have tried, I cannot get the video and audio to sync properly. Video playback is often times jerky, but it depends on what encoders I am using (I've tried the native ffdshow that comes with build 29433, Shark007 and reclock so far playing around with all types of options).

Just for the record, I'm NOT having problems when I play the same files in Windows Media Player. It is just that I really would rather use XBMC b/c of the excellent UI and the great iPhone remote program available.

My setup is a Dell Zino along with a clean install of Win7-64bit, AMD Athlon X2 3250e, ATI HD 4330 with the latest drivers, 6GB RAM.

Just managed to catch this one. When launching video it plays super crazy fast! If stopped then played again all is back to normal.

Thanks

I am having the same issue, sometimes I have to stop and start the mvie a few times to actually get it to play within the normal 24fps range. This happens on MKV and m2ts files.

Using 29443, I encounter error trying to play an mkv.
I followed the wiki guide to dsplayer but I get a playback error, heres' my log:

http://pastebin.com/sRxtsKS2

It seems to load the rules ok, but the first (AFAIK) major error past that is trying to locate "dsconfig.xml". I did a search on my userdata folder (roaming) and in the xbmc install folder, and it dosen't exist.

Should it be in there? Should it be created by xbmc or me personally?
If someone could help me out and show me where I'm going wrong I'd be greatful.
Huh

If you had enabled debug, you'd have seen the error.
Code:
FATAL: CFGFilterFile::Create CoCreateInstance failed!
ERROR: CFGLoader::InsertFilter Failed to create filter "ffdvideodxvadec"

XBMC is not on the ffdshow's whitelist.

I have the same problem but with ffdaudiodec. I have added XBMC.exe to the whitelist in ffdaudiodec and video/dxva as well just in case.

Debug not enabled...
The problem is on ffdshow side, not dsplayer. Make sure everything is correctly configured.

I am running W7 64-bit with 64-bit ffdshow, could this be the problem?

I uninstalled the 64-bit ffdshow and installed 32-bit and got passed the error message but xbmc hangs Sad

FIXED: I think a combination of a bad ffdshow 32-bit build and I had set the path in the config to the 64-bit version caused the hang issues. Everything is working fine now.

When using ffdshow video decoder, are the resize options in the XBMC video settings panel bypassed?

I'm using a c2quad and when it's on bicubic the playback becomes erratic though the cpu % remains about the same as for bilinear (around 35% max for 1080p content). Ffdshow has resize so I don't want XBMC doing any of that internally.

The default shader bicubic should be corrected soon once a new release is available. Seb said he would make bilinear the default in a future release.

Known Issues with current DSplayer build - XBMCSetup-Rev29443-dx.exe

1 - Current default shader increases CPU overhead
2 - Some users report Judder in video playback (also in DVDplayer, so more than likley a trunk issue)
3 - FF/RW not working (appears to cause xbmc to hang after exiting file)
4 - Time goto function not working
5 - EVR (win7 32) - screen tearing in full screen mode (fake fullscreen seems fine)
6 - Changing Video scaling method is not saved when you exit XBMC
7 - Playback from RAR's is working, but only if you have the default splitters and scource settings (eg - no RAR playback via H

very helpful post!
Thanks for the quick update on the current build.

Yip especially for those who don't find their way to the USER support thread and read the first post - amazing what a difference using search makes Rolleyes

Well, yes, but lest you've forgotten...you're dealing with human beings. Nod

I've got a weird problem with XBMC r29443. I'm unable to mount DVD's within windows when XBMC is running with any skin besides Confluence, windows detects the disc type but doesn't load the disc. If I shut down XBMC and load the disc, windows detects it properly, and I can run XBMC and play the DVD, but if I eject it and reinsert the disc it no longer detects the disc. It isn't just DVD's, windows doesn't mount any discs including Bluray and data DVDs.

Running Confluence, everything seems to be fine, DVD's load and play properly even after ejecting and reinserting.

Yep, sounds about right. The other skins are lagging the skin changes.
