blinkseb Wrote:Nothing wrong from the log, what's the error message when xbmc crash?

The library format has obviously changed, since there were about 3 month between the two revisions. And it will changed a lot again Big Grin

I think it was just a generic "XBMC.exe has stopped working" error under windows 7. I'll try to reproduce it for you and have something more useful!

Interestingly, the first 2-3 files that I play work fine. But then the one after that crashes...

- chylld - 2010-09-11

OK it turns out it also crashes on the first file Sad Here's the detail from the Windows error message, hope it helps: http://pastebin.com/FHXPEMC1

Going to try to replicate the problem in the dharma beta now.

Edit: can't replicate it in r33324-Dharma_beta1. Giving 33619-dx another shot with a brand new profile... (have to manually rebuild my library, oh well)

- chylld - 2010-09-12

OK after rebuilding my library from scratch, r33619-dx works great Laugh (after changing the default player to dsplayer that is)

would be nice to have dvdplayer support for the odd flv video file, but i guess i can't complain too much. great job on this release.

They should work. their only a small bug with fast forward.

Most of my files that I used dvdplayer with in 31520-dx now don't work in 33619-dx. I did however just find one bunch of files that does work with dvdplayer in 33619-dx... I'll see if I can find a common pattern (and grab a log of when it fails)

My actions:
1) Play .flv file, fail (fanart in background goes away, and time elapsed shows in bottom left, but still stuck on the same page while nothing happens... hit stop and i can move around the menu again)
2) Play .avi file, succeed
3) Play HD .mkv file, fail in same way as 1) above

In every case, I am invoking the context menu and manually selecting dvdplayer (since dsplayer is my default now.) Same thing happens when dvdplayer is the default.

Dvdplayer is broken in your release ! Please wait for a new one or build your own (it was fixed yesterday )

Would be very happy to (I have VS2010) - is there a guide anywhere for quickly getting started with doing my own builds?

Wiki & search is your friend! http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW-TO_compile_XBMC_for_Windows_from_source_code

Hi guys, I searched the thread about this issue but didnt find anything. I'm trying to use CoreAVC for dsplayer.

Stand alone (i.e. windows media player), it works great, all 720p movies play smoothly. However, on dsplayer:

1) using Haali: I can't play anything. Just click on the movie, tries to load, and goes back to the menu.
2) using coreavc as a decoder (mkvsplitter): i get about 12fps (info shows coreavc is being used)

System is XP on Atom 230 (1.6ghz) i945G onboard.

Thanks for accommodating my n00bness Smile

I built XBMCSetup-Rev33703-dx.exe and it all works perfectly now!! Set DSPlayer as the default player for all types except for flv and mov (apple movie trailers) which are handled by DVDPlayer.

Would be happy to offer my build for download.

I have enabled sharpen complex in the shaders.xml file. Is there anyway to enable a shader for SD content and not HD using a rule for the video size?

thanks

Hope this belongs in the dev thread. If not, please excuse me. I have a weird issue in XBMC using dsplayer.

If I pause a movie or use fastforward/skipforward XBMC hangs in windows 7 64bit with a "XBMC has stopped working"-message. This happens every time, sometimes immediately and sometimes it takes 5-10minutes until it hangs. Play the same file without pausing or skipping and there is no problem. Have tried with at least 5movies and 20different tv-episodes with the same result this entire weekend. Will post debug-log if that is necessary(at work now).

I have also tried different builds(currently at the last build) of dsplayer with completely fresh installs with the same result.

My setup:
Win 7 64
Intel I5 750
Ati HD5400-graphics with latest drivers
4gigs of ram

any help appreciated!

Not yet. By the way, shaders are meant to be laoded via the GUI (Video -> Shaders), not by editing the xml file (understand: i've only tested the gui method, and did not directly edited the xml file :p)

A debug log (with debug enabled) would be really helpfull Smile
