Hi,

I'm glad someone is trying to get GPU working for XBMC on Win :-)

One question, could the admin of the forum maybe give this version a special section cause I'm tying to catch up on the thread but 100 pages with off and on questions is a but messy.

Would be nice.

Keep up the good work, I'm switching back to win to try your dspplayer on my ION

Regards

Ok, back on Win

My config

Windows Seven 64B, fresh install.
Latest Nvidia Drivers OK

Hardware
Atom n300 with ION chipset.

I have only installed the latest build.

But, the 720p and 1080 are not getting played correctly.
And I have a hard time getting the dsplayer to work often getting a grey screen.

Do I need to install some extra things, like ffdshow ?
May I have missed a step?

Regards

Here is a screenshot when trying to play 1080p video with dsplayer

Basically its really simple windows 7 renderer is broken from the last modification im not really working on it right now, im almost working everyday, with that print screen i see your not using the default render for windows 7 because it would be written not using dxva. just wait until i get time to fix the problem

Could that filter be added to DSPlayer?

File Source (URL)
Filename: C:\WINDOWS\system32\quartz.dll
CLSID: {E436EBB6-524F-11CE-9F53-0020AF0BA770}

Yeah it would be easy to add it i just need to add the handling for http path. Because right now its only handling the extension i would need to add a filters rule to handle path starting with http://. The quartz.dll is the microsoft filters package so basically everyone got it and its really easy to add into a graph

Ok thanks, until then i will use MPC-HC.

kuroyume Wrote:i installed rev 26269 on Win7 x64 and it works quite nice, except for the fact that i can't get oudio over HDMI with DSPlayer... if i play using DVDPlayer i get HDMI audio, but DSPlayer goes quiet when trying to output digital sound over my HD4670...

anyone know where i could start looking to find a solution? is there a config option maybe i'm missing?
Please see the post by Hades a few pages back (http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=469750&postcount=893).

I had audio problems with DSPlayer and the AC3 solution fixed it for me nicely. Everything plays swimmingly now.

I don't know if 26269 is different from the one I'm using (25915, updated via XBMC updater).

I've been meaning to write a HOWTO for the Revo, but got sidelined, and there have been some improvements to DSPlayer since.

I agree.. Im new to all this, and tyring to read 100+ pages is never going to happen.. all the useful stuff should be consolidated...

Just chiming in to thank tiben for his continued work on this branch. Cheers!

Ive installed this version of XBMC, is that all I have to do, does the player just work by default, as Ive not noticed any drop in cpu useage still around 85% on my AMD 5000+...

bring up the context menu and select 'play using' then select 'dsplayer'

aahhh... that helps!!! however, I dont get any video, just a blank screen with media controls.. time counting, so I know vid should be playing, but cant see anything!!

Its a 1080p mkv file....

Think I read theres a prob using this with w7..

Windows 7 is totaly broken im only going to be able to code this weekend, im working all week. But even this week end im might be working on the dxva integration in dvdplayer. The difference from boxee i wont take it from mpc-hc ill go with the vlc patch which is amazingly more clean.

Hey, what key do you all hit when playing files with dsplayer that gets the codec, cpu usage, etc information to pop up across the top of the screen? Stupid question, I'm sure... but thanks in advance!

hmmm... it didn't work... i'll fiddle some more with the settings tomorrow... thanks for pointing me to that, it should prove to be a start towards a fix

EDIT: Also, i forgot to say this, but thanks to Tiben for his work on this... even with a CPU that can handle HD, i always prefer to unload as much stuff as i can to the GPU...
