XBMC under WINDOWS 7, runtime error - reta - 2009-12-04 Hi there, I installed win 7 today and one of the first thing I did was to install XBMC ofc. However, when I try to start it I get the following error: I've tried searching the forums but I only find solutions involving changing the gpu drivers, but they are newly installed and fully functional (in every other app/game so far). I'm currently using GeForce Forceware 190.38 Vista and Win 7 (64-bit) WHQL driver. I'm using Nightly build r25010 and no skins installed yet. I have a Q9550 2.83GHz processor, 4GB ram, running windows 7 professional 64-bit. This is my debug log: Quote:05:14:33 T:2916 M:3037212672 NOTICE: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I let some repeating stuff out, here's the full log: http://pastebin.com/m59d9838f Please come with suggestions on how I can try to make XBMC work for me. If I've missed some information, please do tell and I'll edit the post asap. Thanks in advance, reta - jmarshall - 2009-12-04 Create an advancedsettings.xml file (in your userdata folder - the log shows you where that is) containing: Code: <advancedsettings> Then grab the log - it will hopefully contain some more information. - reta - 2009-12-04 jmarshall Wrote:Create an advancedsettings.xml file (in your userdata folder - the log shows you where that is) containing: OK, here is the log after the change in advancedsettings: http://pastebin.com/m2aff2044 - ashlar - 2009-12-04 jmarshall Wrote:Create an advancedsettings.xml file (in your userdata folder - the log shows you where that is) containing:Is this a new feature? - bigbw - 2009-12-04 i had to download dxwebsetup and run it before I installed xbmc and I believe there is a dll file you also need to install.. do a search for windows 7 and you will find what you need.. - WiSo - 2009-12-04 dxwebsetup is included in the beta build and you need a working internet connection during installation. - BigBlack - 2009-12-05 Hi guys! I've the same problem... Someone found a solution? I've installed last Directx 9 because before it ask me a .dll file... But now it don't ask me more dll but it make me the same error... Thank you bye bye - 8301 - 2009-12-05 Same here... Windows 7 Intel E5300 Nvida geforce 9300/nforce 730i *UPDATE* I got it to work Ive found that you can start it from C:\programm (x86)\Xbmc\xbmc.exe If you push the windows bottom and choose properties at XBMC (portable) and in target field remove -p and apply. - BigBlack - 2009-12-05 Sorry but i don't understand where -p is.. Can you explain better? I open .exe properties but i see only XBMC.exe in properties without any -p. Thank you bye - 8301 - 2009-12-06 On the desktop. Push the windows logo botton down to the left. Find xbmc folder and right click on "xbmc portable" and choose propertis. In the target field should say ""C:\programs (x86)\xbmc.exe" -p" (If you have installed it on c: ) Remove -p and apply and the holy grail will unveil - BigBlack - 2009-12-06 mmm i don't have portable version... what version of XBMC do you use? I Use the nighlty build... It's not the same I think - 8301 - 2009-12-06 I use Camelot - Troglodyte - 2009-12-10 I had the same problem when trying to launch XBMC from the start menu or the quick launch icon. But when using xbmc.exe directly from the XBMC folder, it works just fine. I created a shortcut to the desktop and launch it from here - jmarshall - 2009-12-10 Sounds like you all have an old shortcut with the -p switch on it. Remove it. - Randall Lind - 2011-03-06 I have the same issue but happens when I close xbmc. I install Microsoft visual C++ 2008. added that avancedsttings xml, updated video drivers. I have no idea what to do. This started after I reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. |
