Not sure I can get the quality settings to how I like - I used to have it download SDTV/SD DVD first, with SD DVD as archive, which was fine.

However, I would now like it to download new episodes as HDTV, but still replace these with SD DVD rips when available. Upon downloading the HDTV however, the files go green in SB, indicating they are not checked in the backlog?

So is there any way to have it download SDTV, SD DVD or HDTV originally, and then archive with SD DVD?

Yes, of course: Just set Initial to "SDTV", "SD DVD", "HDTV" and archive to "SD DVD"

Edit: Ah, sorry - misread that. No, that option isn't availabe I think. Because SD DVD will be "checked as completed" when HDTV is downloaded...

Yeah after searching the official forums it seems that is true for now. SB could really do with the ability for a user to define his/her personal order of quality. In my eyes, any DVDrip is better than any TVrip.

Could I just check one other thing? I now have shows set up to initially download DSTV, HDTV, 720p WEB or 720p Blu Ray, and for archive I have 720p Web and 720p Blu. If on release of a new episode, SDTV is found first (because it is released earlier than the HD or something) will the HD not be found until a backlog is performed? And similarly, the WEB versions are often a day or so later than the TV Rips. Will I have to wait until the backlog for the TV Rips to be auto-upgraded to WEB?

I think there is some wait-time inbetween the release checks. I use sickbeard for almost 6 months now with 37 continuing shows and I only had the problem that SDTV was downloaded because HDTV wasn't available two times.

But with HDTV and WEB-DL it could be a problem, but honestly I cannot say this. Regarding your quality-request: Please post this on the bugtracker of sickbeard.

My Growl notifications for a finished download stopped working recently, although the started download prompts worked fine. Turns out I had to remove Sickbeard as a registered app in the Growl for Windows client, then re-register it.

Just posting this in case it helps out someone else.

Ok.. So i am still getting the message:
Error trying to get result from SAB, NZB not sent: timed out

I do understand that this may be due to my ports being wrong. How do I fix this ? What should they be.

Right now this is the situation:
My SAB browser has this address
https://localhost:9090/sabnzbd/

SABnzbd Port
"Port SABnzbd should listen on." - is set to 8080

Enable accessing the interface from a HTTPS address. is set to YES
and the HTTPS Port is set to 9090

My Sickbeard broswer has this address:
http://localhost:8081/home/

Sickbeard's Search options are set to:
NZB Search

NZB Method:
SABnzbd URL http://localhost:9090/

So, what is wrong here ? What am I doing wrong ?

I have read all 272 pages, started my first ever usenet subscription, setup sabnzbd and sickbeard, and I think it's running how I'd like it to run (this may change as I learn more), and I just wanted to thank midgetspy for all his and the other coders' work on this amazing program. Thank you!!

So I am assuming that this is not a typo the url for HTTPS should be:

https://localhost:9090/

IF that is what url is then try replacing your localhost with your internal ip:

https://192.168.0.1:9090/

I know in my setup it was picky I had to specify the ip not localhost.

Well, I already have a question. I'm trying to setup sickbeard to download new pokemon episodes for my children. However, it isn't finding any new episodes. I assume this is because of how the files are listed....here is a match from nzbs.so:
Pokemon Black and White - 15 - The Battle According to Lenora [720p][C-W]

It's episode 15 from season 14. Is there any way to manually add this nzb (or automatically) to sickbeard so that it can be renamed according to the sabtosickbeard that I am using for everything else?

There are two possible methods, since the episode does not contain a season name sickbeard won't find anything currently.

You could just download it without assigning the postprocessing-script to it, rename the downloaded file to "Pokemon Black and White - S14E15 - The Battle According to Lenora" and then do a manual-processing in sickbeard (Home -> Manual Post-Process).

If you want to do this for more files, you can use a batch-renamer and just process the root-dir. For example C:\Downloads\Pokemon\EpisodeFolder/EpisodeFiles you would process "C:\Downloads\Pokemon".
For renaming I recommend "Name It Your Way", which is free and can be found here (for Windows that is):

thanks a bunch. this seems to have worked.

Midget Spy: the instructions stipulate http not https. Is this right ?

Also can some one explain to me the HTTP download vs. News Group? and is newz groups just as risky to download from as torrents?

Newsgroups offer SSL so there's a .01% of risk. versus direct download sites like Hotfile or Rapidshare etc... I just switched yesterday from using those sites to newsgroups instead. Took me this long because I'm lazy but once setup it's the best.

Thank you midgetspy(Sick Beard), XBMC and CoucPotato Devs!

Is it possible to have a show NOT automatically get new episodes but only episodes that I specifically want?

sofakng Wrote:Is it possible to have a show NOT automatically get new episodes but only episodes that I specifically want?

Ofc, you can edit the show and mark the "paused" checkbox. Then it will not automatically get new episodes.

And then, on manage -> Backlog Overview, you can get the old episodes.
