Yes, sounds right. Meanwhile, have a look at this forum and see if something there helps you.https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2586101?start=15&tstart=0

Except I don't seem to have this issue on my other Mac mini with XBMC Eden-Beta1 directly connected to a D8000 55" Samsung LED TV. The problem shows up with the unit connected to the Onkyo TX-NR809 into a D8000 64" Samsung Plasma TV.

Also, there is no consistency with this issue.

Yes I know, its just that there are various tips people have used in there that I thought one of them may resolve this issue as well. I have almost an identical setup to yours with the macmini including the samsung plasma (be not that big Smile ). Same inconsistency but what occurs predictably is:

1. If I launch another application that is to use the hdmi sound (eg. eye tv or air server) whilst xbmc is playing a video or in paused mode then the second application will default to internal speakers.
2. After stopping a video, the skins sounds go to internal speakers and starting a movie take then back to hdmi.

I'll try a few tips and tricks in that list and see if I have any luck.

I'll ask again for an xbmc.log. Lacking that, there's nothing more I can do.

New pastebin url, the other had expired: http://pastebin.com/H3dM1Ffu

With or without debugging turned on?

Debugging turned on or it is useless for me.

Just to be clean, there are two issues being chased in this thread, 1) GUI audio not sticking to HDMI and 2) audio output getting broked after switch when doing passthough over HDMI. Which is your issue again ?

I'll provide the debug in a little bit or tomorrow if that's OK. Experiencing 1 and 2 and a 3rd issue. Usually when the above happens, it starts playing in slow motion. Would you like me to capture a video of what's happening?

2) leads to video playing in slow motion. what you see is the amp's ac3/dts indicator blinking on/off fast like it can't quite get a lock.

davilla taps the microphone... need feedback here less I get bored and turn to sometime else to fix. Once I do that, this goes to the bottom of the pile Smile
