Is http://www.notify.io like a growl alternative?

Similar...in the end notify.io will send it to growl...but for instance...
Say...you have 3 computers.....with different IP addresses....ones a laptop you move around a lot, and take to different places, etc.
All you have to is setup notify.io on Notify Pro, with your notify.io settings...iPhone will send the notification to http://www.notify.io ... and all your notify.io clients will get it from http://www.notify.io...and then from there I believe the notify.io client for windows/mac will send it to growl...
It's good in the sense ..that the iPhone doesn't need to know the ip addresses of where its going..I just send it to notify.io..from there it goes wherever it needs to go.
I believe you can redirect the notifications to other places as well from their website...like...google talk etc...

I have the same problem when using either the xbmc or growl setup and if I have wifi only turn on. If I turn wifi only off I get my email notifications just fine.
I also have an issue with growl in that I get 3 or 4 pop ups on my mac when I get an email. SMS and phone calls work correctly with only 1 pop up.
Runing OS X 10.6.2 and Notifiy pro on a 3Gs with 3.1.2
BTW. Love the app! Used the free version for about 30 minutes before buying the pro version.

I've actually disabled WiFi only option in the latest version until I workout how to make it work properly....
To make up for it...
If the ip address you've given is an internal one i.e) 192.***
NotifyPro will give you 10 seconds of leeway time for the WiFi connection to be established.....so..if you have wifi enabled...and your phone is in standby and you receive an alert you phone wakes up...but wifi is takes about 5 seconds to connect so notify pro will wait for it to connect and send....The bad part about this though is the phone does not wake up for new emails I think?? ...
If you have specified an external ip address, notify pro will not wait for the wifi to connect, and immediately send out the notification since it can reach that ip address.
I'm aware of the problem with Mail notifications but I'm not entirely sure what to do, too fix it...I'll have to play around with it more...won't be fixed until after 1.3 is released.
I have made some other tweaks though.. to mail notifications for 1.3 :
Mail notification to have a max of 160 chars.. maybe that's to little might bump it up to 500....and also...if i see the line "wrote:" anywhere in the email, I only notify you of stuff above that....i assume that anything after "wrote:" is part of the original email ( i.e this was a reply email)....maybe i should also look for ">" ..or something...dunno.

You could also add a option to show the subject instead of the content on a email.

I have submitted 1.3 to Cydia, please remember to activate the application via Notify Pro settings, I recommend re-adding your hosts as well, since some stuff will not carry over correctly to 1.3.

Just out of curiosity, I'm thinking of also porting this over to the Android platform in the near future, what do you guys think?
