Version 2.2 and Apple TV version 3.0.1 - RJans - 2009-12-28
I'm running Snow Leopard on my MAC and my Apple TV has software version 3.0.1. I Tried to run the MAC ATV USB creator, but it is only for Apple TV version 2.2 and does not work on my Apple TV. Can any one help?

It should work I guess. It might not install Launcher, but ssh and such will be there. After that you can manually install the latest Launcher version. Make sure you checked / searched the issues list. If it still doesn't work, create an new issue and describe precicely what happened and what you expected to happen.
