erhnam Wrote:To change the hostname type: "hostname yourname"

This works at in terminal but the machine still appears on my network as XBMCLive. Is there another fix? Edit SMB.conf perhaps?

DocEvil Wrote:a simple Question, i tried to use Transmission. The webui works fine, even from remote computer outside my personal network. but how i can add torrents without the information that they have no permission to write any data at the folders ?

Is this fixed? Not had time to try but I have 5 torrents to add and seed. I hope it works!

EDIT: Not working, checked I had opened port but Trans reports Error: Permission denied /home/xbmc/Downloads/Heroes.S04E17.avi (I had pointed both SAB and Torrent to Downloads dir)

fidoboy Wrote:Right now i've noticed another problem; i'm using app launcher in XBMC to execute chrome browser it works fine, but if i play a flash video in chrome, then when i close it and back to XBMC i've no sound when trying to play music. I get 'failed to open audio device' message. It happens the same if i play a 2.0 movie but it works fine using passthrough in 5.1 AC3 movies. Can anyone confirm this issue? why the audio device is not available for XBMC after using it with another app? may be i need any aditional command in my launcher script after chrome closes?

Fidoboy, could you PLEASE point me to some reasonably-idiot-proof instructions how to add a script for Chrome (or Firefox)... I won't ask Ernham to add it as its too much and so few people will want it but I'd like to try it!

furii Wrote:i'm wondering if anyone knows how to upgrade from sabnzbd+ 0.4.12 to the 0.5 release candidate. i thought replacing sabnzbdplus in /usr/bin/ and replacing the /interface/ and /sabnzbd/ folders in /usr/share/sabnzbdplus/ would do the trick, but no luck.

errrr wait until its NOT a RC and has been released and then do

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

?

Wasn't the First Post in this thread by "erhnam"
(where he wrote the changelog and download link to newest version?)

who/why did someone mess around with this thread?

or am I mistaken?

Why? It has spoiled this thread.. some Mod should just remove post #1

Methanoid, you must first install Chrome in your XBMC live, use this:

http://ulyssesonline.com/2009/11/02/install-google-chrome-on-ubuntu-9-10/

then download the app launcher plugin for XBMC and launch Chrome using the plugin.

the current update you posted on your website http://www.xbmcfreak.nl/en/ has the latest release of alaska, but the version of xbmc is to old for it to work correctly. I will upgrade xbmc to svn myself, just pointing it out for you and others that are going to try it.

Thanks matsui, i've already noticed that point and i've done an SVN upgrade to use the Alaska final release. All is working fine... But i still have two problems, i can't get HDMI sound and also after launching Chrome or Firefox from XBMC i can't get sound working again and i must reboot the machine...

Hello everybody. This LiveCD is fantastic, it works perfectly, I just installed on my ION based HTPC and goes great.

I am new on Linux and I have some questions:

1. How can I take screenshoots on this LiveCD?

2. Is possible to monitorize the CPU, GPU and disk temperatures? Something like cacti.

3. How can I configure the audio? It works with ALSA or PulseAudio?

4. What more software I have installed? I just try Transmission.

Thanks for all your work and time.

Regards.

Version 10 is on it's way with the latest version of alaska (from git)

jlazkano Wrote:1. How can I take screenshoots on this LiveCD?

Printscreen

jlazkano Wrote:2. Is possible to monitorize the CPU, GPU and disk temperatures? Something like cacti.

Yeah sure. Sudo apt-get install cacti

jlazkano Wrote:3. How can I configure the audio? It works with ALSA or PulseAudio?

Version 10 will have triple audio output. Hdmi, optical and analog will do audio at the same time!

jlazkano Wrote:4. What more software I have installed? I just try Transmission.

Check the second post from this thread for a full list or visit the website: http://www.xbmcfreak.nl/

Sound works, video works.

Same here. That's why I won't be adding the 185.xx drivers. If you want to have the 185.xx drivers installed you should grab my code from http://github.com/xbmcfreak/xbmcfreak and compile it yourself. Another solution is to just wait till 195.xx final will be released.

- jlazkano - 2010-01-27

Thank you very much for your reply. I will install cacti to monitorize the temperature.

I have v8 installed. I want to have audio on same time in optical and analog. I use the HDMI just for image, not to audio.

Is possible to configure my audio on v8? Whicj files I must config?

Thanks for all!!

erhnam Wrote:Asrock remote doesn't work since the driver's quality is very bad. This doesn't allow me to package it within a livecd. Only MS compatible remotes are supported.

Ernham, did you test latest driver from Asrock webpage? I just saw that they released (15 JAN) new linux CIR drivers. Can you test it and eventaually include in v10?

Salata

New problem found. When I try to play a Mp3 i get "Audio Device failed to initialize" and then no sound.

Asrock330HT, HDMI to Reciever. Version 9 of the Live disc.

Any pointers?

Go to System - Audio Hardware and change your audio device from:

alsa:plug:both ---> hdmi

dualboot cd - mross22 - 2010-01-27

Does the dualboot boxer/xbmc cd always contain the latest xbmc build?
