@Hannes The Hun
hehe, its not important if the movie is fetish fuck sluts or shrek or a discovery documentation Smile The issue is that the Sound is not working. If i boot the Live CD its working perfect, if i install the livecd with the installer to the harddrive and i made the same settings like before on the live system there is no damn sound over hdmi Smile Any other help ?

Is wireless networking even possible with this build on a Revo 1600? In researching this problem myself I’ve stumbled upon posts saying that wireless isn’t really a priority since you can’t reliably stream HD content and supporting it isn’t high on the list for developers. Is this the case with this build? Am I just wasting my time trying to make it work or is it possible and I’ve just got something wrong somewhere?

Questions related to networking Revo 1600’s and this install have been posted several times on this thread but nobody has ever said if it can be done or if not why it can’t. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

did you try this? http://www.xbmcfreak.nl/en/wifi-onder-linux-configureren/

to be honest, if you're trying to play 720p/1080p you're going to want a wired connection. you're going to get stuttering on an 802.11b or g network, n should be ok though.

Since you seem incapable of using the search function I went ahead and did it for you. Read this

@cowfodder
I have already found this post you talking and linking yesterday night. This is what the guy talking about :

I have found a solution! For better performance, I had set my iGPU Buffer to manual and set it to 512MB as recommended by many. This is what was causing the problem. If I change it to automatic, it works! I get audio over HDMI perfectly. Perhaps I need more than 1.5GB of RAM for the 512MB buffer to work. Still strange that it worked in a Live disc. I guess considering a Live disc will allocate RAM much different than an install version, that may have had something to do with.

So i went today to the shop and buy a 2GB Memory Module for my Netbox. There is only one Slot for memory so i put in 2GB Memory. The Netbox Bios don't allow to change the iGPU Buffer manually like in ASROCK. So after installed the 2GB Mem the Bios showed up 256 for the GPU. Fazit : My system is running already and since all my tests on automatic and allocated now with the 2GB Mem Module 256 for iGPU Buffer.

Still no Sound over HDMI with installed Version, works still with Live CD.

Some other good ideas ? Big Grin

Thanks for that link, I hadn't found that one yet. I'll start reading up there. I'm not going to be transferring files over the network (they're all stored locally on an external HD attached to the Revo) so not too worried about network speed. Just need it to see out to run the scrapers and update the weather.

erhnam Wrote:Btw;

I created two new livecd's built against svn:

http://www.xbmcfreak.nl/en/xbmcfreak-svn-versie-27017/
http://www.xbmcfreak.nl/en/xbmcfreak-live-svn-versie-27338/

The latest one also includes the broadcom crystal hd drivers!

I installed the 27338 but after install I do not see an option to select Broadcom in the Video Settings. It still just has the VDPAU.

Also, I am getting really choppy HD stream with the VDPAU in this build.
REVO 1600.

EDIT: After a reboot the choppiness is gone. But I still no Broadcom option.

Hello, I installed the v8 (the v10 has some errors). I want to edit the audio setings to get analog and optical at same time. But I don't have any .asoundrc file on my /home.

My user is "xbmc". I must creat it?

Can you help, please?

Thanks for all the job.

Thanks for all!

Can I uninstall the transmission-deamon?

What more extra software is installed by default?

Thanks for all!

Quick Question I noticed your newest build based on the SVC xbmc releases includes support for the Broadcom Crystal HD PCI-E cards, which help take the load off the CPU for decoding HD video. I read that these ION CPU's do a much better job decoding the video than these cards is this wrong? I was under the impression that the Cards were for Netbooks that were unable to decode HD video.

How can I switch display between my LCD monitor and Plasma TV in XBMC live for Ion V10.
When XBMC live is running, LCD monitor works by default. I try Setting -> System Setting -> Video Output -> Display, but there is only resolution changing options. I can't switch display between LCD monitor and Plasma TV.
I have installed xbmcfreak911live v10 in a 4G USB stick. My motherboard is zotac ionitx, it has VGA, HDMI and DVI interfaces. I only use VGA connected with 22" LCD monitor and HDMI connected with 50" Plasma TV.

They're pretty similar actually, and both are intended for netbooks.

So if I have an Acer Revo with this distro on it, is their any advantage to buying and installing one of these Broadcom Crystal HD cards?

I mean as far as I can tell the Acer can play back 1080P Mkv's with no problem. I haven't tried a Full Blu Ray rip thou.

Full rip should be easier because it's uncompressed... right? Huh

NS

If it is uncompressed there is more detail and information to be displayed on screen, therefor it would need more power. should still be OK though.
