Audio worked with my Denon receiver just fine, however it had difficulty with video playback at 720p and above. Anyways this certainly implies my problem with audio is some issue between nvidia's linux drivers and my Denon receiver latest firmware. I found that yesterday they released version 195.36.24 of the linux drivers, the previous version I had was 195.36.15. So I'll cross my fingers and hope for some success with those. I'm going to install v14 and update to those drivers and see what happens. - -FX-RIDER- - 2010-04-30 Hey Keith, what Denon AVR are you using? I have an AVR 2309, and the sound works out of the box over HDMI (at least AC3 and DTS) don't have any HD-Audio files for testing of LPCM 192kHz/24bit Audio transfer, which should be possible. - KeithLM - 2010-04-30 -FX-RIDER- Wrote:Hey Keith, I have a 4810. It worked fine until last week when it got a firmware upgrade. - KeithLM - 2010-05-01 Tonight I installed v14 and still no audio, so I upgraded to the latest nvidia drivers that were released on 4/28, and still no audio. This is with my Acer AR1600, Intel Atom, nvidia ION. Here's some output from aplay, I noticed that the HDMI devices is device 3, so I tried changing the alias in alsa-base.conf to alias snd-card-3 snd-hda-codec-nvhdmi instead of snd-card-0. No difference. Code: root@XBMCLive:~# aplay -L my etc/asound.conf has only the following: pcm.!default { type plug slave { pcm "hdmi" } } I checked alsamixer and I have one IEC958 there and it is not muted. Here is the output from lsmod Code: Module Size Used by So does anything look wrong to anybody? - Buckster - 2010-05-01 I'd like to give this a go - but want to remove all the file sharing etc software - or at least permanently disable it ? any ideas please ? just don't like the thought of it running in the background - even if its not enabled as such ? - erhnam - 2010-05-01 Buckster Wrote:I'd like to give this a go - but want to remove all the file sharing etc software - or at least permanently disable it ? any ideas please ? just don't like the thought of it running in the background - even if its not enabled as such ? sudo apt-get remove transmission-cli transmission-daemon transmission-common sabnzbdplus - Buckster - 2010-05-01 erhnam - thanks very much indeed just didn't want any chance of people downloading off me without me realising it as I don't do any file sharing of any description - cowfodder - 2010-05-01 Buckster Wrote:erhnam - thanks very much indeed Not possible. - Buckster - 2010-05-01 cowfodder - please explain - - thanks for the reply - I was sure it was probably my misunderstanding of how it all works - but I just wasn't sure what was going on with these elements running the background I'm too used to windows and looking at what processes are running etc - cheers - NotShorty - 2010-05-01 Buckster Wrote:please explain An explanation of why someone can't download your files without you allowing them to do so would be long, and pretty off-topic. With your xbmc running, press Ctrl Alt F1, then type xbmc, hit enter, xbmc, hit enter, then type the following command, hit enter to uninstall the file sharing software. erhnam Wrote:sudo apt-get remove transmission-cli transmission-daemon transmission-common sabnzbdplus And/or you can trust us that this is nothing to worry about. Whatever. NS - Buckster - 2010-05-01 NotShorty - totally agree - don't want the thread to go off topic - so thanks for the uninstall commands - have a nice weekend Buckster - cowfodder - 2010-05-02 For those having issues with the blu-ray plugin and makemkv not playing the latest movies, check out http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=224. The version of makemkv on erhnam's cd is a bit outdated. The new version should be capable of playing the new BD+ stuff. |
