The Bleeding is a common problem with all LED back lit LCDs. So most likely its due to your tv not XBMC. Properly calibrating your TV could if you are lucky reduce the problem. For example "Cinema" or Movie setting is usually a good start.

norda Wrote:Hello!

I'm new to the forum and I'm very new at asrcok.
This I have succeeded have done so far.

Installed v7 of xbmc live version.
Has subsequently followed this guide http://a8t8.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!2518DD508BB713E8!804.entry

Yesterday I saw 2012 720p. And in all rapid sequence worked fine.
But when there was dialogue between two people so easily became a little "bleeding" in the picture.
Around their faces.

My tv is a samsung ue46b7070 if it has any significance.
Thanks for this version xbmc live

This text is translated in google from Swedish to English, please have patience with this. Is very bad to write in English

Norda,

I have the same TV as you but 40" version and spent some time last weekend getting the refresh rate correct. You can try and use this xorg.conf to be able to use 1920x1080@60 (rather than 50 which I had as default)

Place a file in /etc/X11/ named xorg.conf with this content

http://pastebin.com/m3d6be142

And see if that makes any difference

Edit: I speak Swedish by the way...

I really must make more effort to read the first post.

Just spotted you added SABnzbd and Transmission to the CD with v7. That's awesome, exactly what I was looking for.

Presumably using default port settings ? eg with dummy IP address for box

http://192.168.0.100:9000/sabnzbd/ for SAB web UI
http://192.168.0.100:9091/transmission/web for Trans web UI

Do all the downloaded files end in Downloads directory?

What about SABnzbd's working files? It's handy to have them easily accessible to delete old cache/logs/NZB files but i guess I could just change the settings myself via web UI.

One question: Is it possible on install to have the /home on another HDD? I have a small HD for my Ion but a large external HDD for all my media, downloads etc. As the install automatically makes the /home/xbmc/xxx directories shared it would be helpful for them to be external.

This really is a great distro. Thanks SO MUCH for it! Smile:oSmile

Thanks. In my next release there will be script looking for the xbmclive user. The sabnzbd config file will be modified and the correct user will be set. Default port is 9000 and the host is set to 0.0.0.0, so it will work on any system.

I also changed the transmission settings according to: http://www.xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=61574

Just wait for my version 9 which also includes the Blu-Ray script and makemkv binaries Smile

JumJum Wrote:Acctually, the number of cores does not matter and the Atom 230 supports the same instructions as the 330. It's only for the older Atom N2X0 and Atom Z5XX that the core2 flag will not work. (But neither of those can be found on an ION board, so...)

Interesting, thanks for setting me straight, and thanks again for the compile flags.

edwinmcdunlap Wrote:The Atom 230 is hyperthreaded, anyway, so it does have 2 "cores".

But it really doesn't and in a lot of cases hyperthreading will hurt performance rather than help.

** I'm done hopping off topic now, sorry thread people.

Whats the SAB password? The INI says no username or password but the box asks for one.

EDIT: Fixed by several reboots. No idea why!!!

Likewise with Transmission the thread above says the web interface should be at http://192.168.0.103:9091/ but Transmission web interface is supposed to be at http://192.168.0.103:9091/transmission/web

Either way both for me fail

403: Forbidden
Unauthorized IP Address.
Either disable the IP address whitelist or add your address to it.

If you're editing settings.json, see the 'rpc-whitelist' and 'rpc-whitelist-enabled' entries.

If you're still using ACLs, use a whitelist instead. See the transmission-daemon manpage for details.

Did you change the RPC whitelist as I am trying from a local machine to access the Transmission (and SAB) UI's but cannot. I want to be able to access them from work or a friends house

EDIT: Tried changing settings.json to change rpc-whitelist-enabled to false but didnt work... Ideas?

Whats the bLue ray script going to add? :confused2:

EDIT: The W7 networking fix seems to be in there (as you hinted) but although I can see the XBMCLive machine I cannot see any files shareable. When I added the W7 fix myself to V5 I managed to overwrite my SMB.conf. I wonder if the sharing of home/xbmc/videos etc folders has gone?

Final question: Is it possible to rename the XBMCLive machine on network. I have 2 Ions currently (maybe a 3rd soon!) and its confusing which is which!!!Big Grin

I use V5 of XBMC live, and i would like to change xorg.conf file. When i try it, i get message that i can't do this as i don't have permission. I tried to login as root (xbmc/xbmc) but this did not work for me. Did i do something wrong or is there another way to change this file?

Here's how I did. Maybe not the right way but it worked with the help of a friend.

1. Download and install Putty.
2nd Enter the ip address for your HTPC.
3rd So here I wrote.

xbmc @ XBMCLive: ~ $ sudo passwd root
Then, select your password, then confirm it.
Then I logged into the WinSCP as root / password. Not xbmc / password.

You do not have rights to change the folders in "xbmc" is in some guides that you must be logged in as root. As I said earlier, maybe not the right way to go, but it worked for me.

Hope it works for you and that no other forum throwing stones at me!
Edit: I'm using V7, but it should not have any relevance.

Anybody have issues with sound distortion in this build? - haiiyaa - 2010-01-21

I am currently running acer aspire revo R3610 using the default live version. I am seeing the sound distortion issue here that is reported here
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=64276

So now i am considering installing xbmcfreakV7. Just wanted to see if anybody using this version has seen the same sound problem?

Also, will this work (for the most part) out of the box for aspire revo?

Thanks.

Wireles problem - Gerabit - 2010-01-21

First of all I want to thank you for this fine release....

I have one question:
How can we change the keyboard configuration? In installation there isn't any option....

One problem:

I'm trying to install my wireless dongle, Atheros, but i'm stuck in the poit where this happens:

xbmc@XBMCLive:~$ sudo apt-get install wpasupplicant
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package wpasupplicant

I'm very new to Linux, can somebody help please!

Thank you in advance

Note: I'm using version v7

Solved! Missing the command: sudo apt-get update

fozzieb Wrote:Will not detect network cards in the acer revo.

hmm., that's strange. Isn't xbmcfreak based on xbmclive build? the live build detected the lan network card (i haven't tested the wlan yet). It's sad that this build won't recognize my card.

Be that as it may, is it a tall task to get the network cards working? I am a linux beginner so what might be easy for some probably won't necessarily be that simple for me.
