Is there any way to get random play of musin from the music library without having to set up playlists?
I just want random play from the entire music catalogue.

enable shuffle in player controls. queue the whole bugger up. have at it.
or just use party mode.

I obviously need to delve into the menus deeper. I couldn't find anything like this.

I simply cannot find any options for Random play, Party play etc. I have been through every option I can find.
Am I missing something?

Can't comment for every skin, but under Confluence the 'random play' setting is available in the context menu that you can call up along the top of the screen when you're in full-screen visualisation mode.

that's one option. or you could
1) start a song
2) hit m
3) toggle it there
or you could
1) start a song
2) go to now playing
3) activate there.
