magnetism Wrote:Ok, so when you type makemkvcon in the commandline it works. Hmmm, strange. I don't see anything wrong in the logs. It creates the right command to start stream an inserted blu ray disc.

How long did you wait before killing XBMC?

Code:
makemkvcon
makemkvcon: error while loading shared libraries: libmakemkv.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

there seams to be something wrong...

EDIT:// I think I found the problem I forgot to also install the makemkv_v1.6.3_oss.tar.gz. Doing it now.

EDIT2 :// Works now perfectly. Is there a possibility to make it faster? Less precaching?

- magnetism - 2011-01-06

No,at least not in xbmc . It makemkv that is slow cause it's parsing all items on the disc.

- CoDeX2k - 2011-01-06

btw. will all the blurays work or are there any limitations?

- magnetism - 2011-01-06

You upgraded from the previous stable? If so, you'll need to install the new addon.

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=67420

Install addon
Install makemkv
Watch bluray

Did you read the first post of this thread?

Tried to play my Avatar 3d iso and it loaded up to 100% then failed.
Log: http://pastebin.com/xJUftx3S

I am running the most current of the script and the most current version of makemkv.

Nothing in the logs that suggests failure. Can you try from the command line:

"makemkvcon" stream iso:/mnt/Movies0/AVATAR_3D.iso

let me know what the output is. If it seems to start the streams successfully, can you try to play them in xbmc then?
Thanks.

makemkv doesn't seem to be necessary - zoydberg - 2011-01-09

i only have 1 iso that wont play natively and its bluray. all i needed to do was mount the iso with the following command:

mount -o loop -t udf pathtobluray.iso /media/cdrom

i used /media/cdrom, but i think it could be any arbitrary mount point, just make sure the folder exists

then on xbmc just browse to the mount point(local or smb works), and find the largest m2ts file and it should play just fine without the use of makemkv.

optional: you can go one step further if you want to, copy the correct m2ts file to your video folder (noting the name), then delete the iso file. what your left with is a video file that xbmc will natively play without any headaches

- linuxluemmel - 2011-01-11

yep ... I guess a iso without any drm protection can be played without any problem .-)
Insert a native bluray into the drive and this disc will not play.

Can't play discs, ISO's are okay - lenwar - 2011-01-11

I have an issue with the latest plugin (for the current stable of xbmc)
I can use the script to play ISO's and index.bdmv files. I however can't play discs.

The script starts up makemkvcon with all it's stuff properly. I can see in the log file that it eventually starts up the upnp server, but the script just stops. It also does not show the small waiting window with the countdown. I have been going over the code a few times, and I don't understand it myself....

In essence I have the same issue as Pigeta.

EDIT:
As a sidenote... I can execute it manually:
Code:
makemkvcon stream disc:0
http://192.168.25.3:8080/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=PlayFile(http://192.168.25.3:51000/stream/title0.m2ts;1)

So the disc is okay.

EDIT 2:
I can work with "Browse Disc" so at least I can actually view my discs ;-)

- magnetism - 2011-01-11

So, let me get this straight. It works with browse, you can actually select a title and play? But if you select play disc it doesn't work?

Just installed your .deb package for makemkv. One question: Does it automatically download all the *.svq packages, as it says in their website? I don't see any .svq files at all in my system. Am I missing something? Cheers!!

Install from zip. Follow all other steps to get makemkv etc...
Tried the plug-in "Install from zip file" but it failed to install, returning the error: "Installation failed". Here is the log - http://pastebin.com/McsrYF1a
Can anyone please tell me if anything I'm doing wrong? Spec., version of XBMC etc. all in my signature. cheers!!

Can you try to unzip it yourself in the addon directory?
