grey Wrote:have a question:

if i update to a current svn build and the playback becomes choppy, can i downgrade to a build which was working satifsactory?

save out the current one (manually) by moving it.

mv Applications/XBMC Applications/XBMC_saved

- grey - 2010-01-30

@davilla, unfortunately this command gives me error. on appletv i don't have such a folder.

- Bobby Blixberg - 2010-01-30

xbmc info: Starting XBMC, Platform: Mac OS X. Built on Jan 29 2010 (SVN:27265)

i am trying to play the movie over nfs and gigabit fileserver. fileserver is a fedora based core2duo machine, doing over 80 MB/sec.

currently i copy the file to atv local disk and try again.

- andy204 - 2010-01-31

local playing makes no difference

- dwoodland - 2010-01-31

I'm seeing the same issue as Andy on r27265. Playback is excellent for a good 10 minutes or so then it'll get choppy for a bit and then start playing good again. I'm using passthrough digital audio, so no audio decode to slow it down. I also see the same 'SetDropState' message in the logs.

I'm hoping to get to the point that we can watch 720p mkv videos flawlessly Smile
Thanks for all the support.

- travisbell - 2010-01-31

I think we just need to continue to be patient. This is a known issue and as Davilla has said, his time to work on this is limited. This weekend alone there's been 7 commits to SVN surrounding CrystalHD support.

Give the guy some time to get things sorted Wink

- andy204 - 2010-01-31

i dont want to press someone Smile i just wanted to post some logs and maybe it can help the developers.

Just a side note:
You can always rollback to a revision that works perfectly with 720p. Yesterday I did an update to latest SVN version compiled, then bumped into the same issue as reported here for the ATV.

TeknoJnky did an excellent job with revision installer here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=59126&highlight=script

Just pick rev26651. Life is good again Wink

- andy204 - 2010-02-01

rev26651 works like a charm. thanks for that info!

- grey - 2010-02-01

so you're saying that rev26651 does not suffer from this slow'mo problems?

- andy204 - 2010-02-01

wrong alert. suffers aber 20 minutes, instead after some minutes. doesnt work neither!

- sircube - 2010-02-01

... so still 3 times better experience than with recent svn.
So just wait and hope chief Davilla will fix the recent bug soon.
