Big troubles as in what, smoke coming out of the box Smile Please be specific. There are several issues being tracked.

well, running latest available svn build.

very very often shutters on this video... 720p...

would post some log, but don't know what part of it would help...

maybe this will work: http://pastebin.com/m7b56c2e0

post whole log (on pastebin)

- grey - 2010-02-04

the part of the log is from the opening the problematic file till it's playback end.

Play the file in questions, stop, then play it again. On second play, does it have the same framedrop problem ? If so then that's #2 in http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=69384

Davilla-

Is there any possibility of the decoder board overheating? Probably not, considering it's usually in a laptop (another hot environment.)

I've got it installed in mine and the studdering doesn't usually happen until a few minutes into the movie which I why I ask this.

Nope, the decoder is fine. It's getting the internal dvdplayer working correctly with the crystalhd decoder. It works differently than software ffmpeg.

great progress being made here! and once again thanks to all devs, and particularly davilla on the broadcom crystal hd components!

having watched & waited, and seeing davilla's general post regarding svn r27450+ i have patched to this version and am re-testing clips.

unfortunately, i still get stuttering. this is being described in other posts too, so wont labour the point. audio continues, but video is choppy and often doesnt catch up by the time i stop ("menu" on the atv remote) playback, and resume playback, which fixes for a short period.

what is weird is that having played back the same couple of segments of a tv show, different bits cause the stuttering each time - as in its not a pre-defined section where there's a bit-rate spike, etc.

here is the xbmc.log (note: i think in this log, i played segment "007" ok, then "006" after which had the stuttering)

here is the mediainfo output regarding the mkv file
http://pastebin.com/m33c3585a

here is the location of the uploaded segment

if unable to pinpoint any specific issues, i hope it helps with the whole debugging!

many thanks again

another tidbit about my experiences...

watching the film "2012" (no comments about how entirely guff it is please haha).

the mediainfo output is here:
http://pastebin.com/m6b67c3ac

my standard setup is to use various SMB shares for my movie and tv show repositories. with this setup, the playback hung/crashed at 46mins 33secs. if i try to replay the film and select to resume from this point, it brings up a "working" dialog box before eventually returning back to the menu interface, with no playback. here is a debug log file of this whole session:
http://pastebin.com/m4b84390

i then copied the file locally, and started playback of this file. it got past the above moment, and was able to playback the whole film without exiting to menu structure but was notably choppy (tho there were elongated periods of brilliant, i.e. stable, playback). its too big for pastebin but can upload this if people want to view this...?

cheers again

*wrong topic*

Tijntje Wrote:i've testes the latest nightly for osx r27527 and the stuttering is still there (davilla asked to test it).

Every 3-4 minutes i'm seeing frame drops. Do logs help?

I also tested the mkv with the problem area setdropstate 0-1 and for those movies i have the problem is gone Smile

I've just done a fresh install of the atv o/s back on my atv and installed r27527 and am also experiencing the constant stuttering every few minutes which is fixed by a quite rewind and a fast forward back to where I was. gets a bit frustrating after a while though :|

will upload logs shortly
