XBMC crash on starting video - J33nn - 2010-01-25 I`ve just installed XBMC on my Debian Squeeze. Everything works fine except Video playback. Every time I try to play something it just crash with SIGSEGV. Here is the crash log. http://pastebin.com/m1d8fbeae When I tried to play smaller file like 1,5M it worked perfectly Any ideas? - JumJum - 2010-01-25 XBMC is trying to play the video using VDPAU, which is not supported by your graphics card. (Only newer cards have MPEG-4 VDPAU) Does it play if you change the render setting in XBMC to Software? You might want to install the latest stable nvidia drivers too. - J33nn - 2010-01-25 After changing to Software it worked. Anyway VDPAU should work for me: GeForce 8600M GT My drivers: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-190.42-pkg1.run For me looks ok but maybe i need newer ones. - JumJum - 2010-01-25 Your card supports vdpau for h264, vc1 and mpeg2, but not for mpeg-4. The file should still play, since it should switch to non-vdpau playback automatically. Why it doesn't do that properly I don't know, but knowing what the problem is is a good start. |
