- Superorb - 2011-08-10 ^^ Wow, the hardware on all those machines is obscenely overkill. Seriously, NO HTPC needs four 128gb SSD's in RAID 0. Maybe he's got money coming out of everywhere and he's trying to blow it all on something. If that's the case I wouldn't mind a few of his spare parts - desol11 - 2011-08-10 Here is my setup (pics not that great)(red wall is old pics): Tv Toshiba 55' wx800u Receiver Onkyo sr308 Speakers JVC 5.0 Sub built by me HTPC CPU q9400 Mother board ep45umd3 Video card gtx 460 1gb Hard drive 14tb case haf 912 Games 70 Blu rays 500 Tv blu rays 14 Music 5600 songs Kinect Kinemote software Led strips using Amblone software arduino mega IMG_01 by desol007, on Flickr IMG_05 by desol007, on Flickr IMG_16 by desol007, on Flickr IMG_0592 by desol007, on Flickr IMG_04 by desol007, on Flickr IMG_16 by desol007, on Flickr - MaxHeadroom - 2011-08-10 Eoghlear Wrote:Got a Sony with custom made 'ambilight' using the boblight software, several rgb led-strips and a controller like this. I know one said he was a home theater installer. I know I'm underpaid for what I do but I so wish I could put together just a $10,000 system. right now mine is about $1,500. * 32" 1080p Vizio Internet TV * Intel Dual Core Celeron 2.2GHz, Antec P180 case, 4GB RAM, ~5TB of storage as the server/main media center * 24" iMac 2.4GHz C2D as a 2nd media center in the bedroom / wifes computers * 24" + 17" 2.8GHz, HD 6800 1GB, 4GB RAM my work/alt media center if the wife is watching something in the living room - prophetizer - 2011-08-12 scoptepi, all these people don't necessarily do it all at once, i know i don't, i just upgrade or add here and there once or twice a year. or at least thats what i tell my wife. - scotepi - 2011-08-12 prophetizer Wrote:scoptepi, all these people don't necessarily do it all at once, i know i don't, i just upgrade or add here and there once or twice a year. or at least thats what i tell my wife. I guess that makes sense, tho doing it all at once would be great. My next big upgrade is gonna be to get a 8 drive Drobo and a few 3TB drives ~$2,000, not looking forward to getting approval for that >< - Superorb - 2011-08-12 scotepi Wrote:I guess that makes sense, tho doing it all at once would be great. You might want to price out an unRAID build. It's not proprietary like a Drobo, and it will likely be cheaper than a Drobo too. - stoli - 2011-08-12 desol11 Wrote:I am using neon Not in those pics - looks like Transparency. - desol11 - 2011-08-12 I swap up sometimes I do use transparency and backrow but mostly neon - Beer40oz - 2011-08-13 WOW!
