This runs as the server and is also the XBMC box for the spare bedroom.
My two XMBC boxes in the pictures above are both Eee Boxes. EB1501 ION boxes, functionally identical to the Asrock ION boxes except they also have DVD drives. They are both running an Ubuntu minimal install, with the XBMC Live script taking them straight to XBMC. They function exactly like appliances, which is a big factor in getting the wife to use XBMC!
They are networked to the home server.

Yes, they aren't cheap, but they come with built-in IR ports and a really nice wireless keyboard and mouse.
Plus I like the form factor.

I could do that with the XBMC box, although I do like the jaunty angle while using the base.
But I have experimented with the 360 in the space and find that it runs too hot if it does not have completely unrestricted airflow.

That is the Transparency Skin. I've edited the xml file for the main menu to add some custom categories. There is a guide for it here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=89678

Well first post here and this is my setup. Been using XBMC for last two years and love it and even more importantly the wife loves it too.

I hate living in an apartment. I can't run anything through the attic, and I have to be very sneaky about holes in walls. I'll likely have to use wireless for the next place in a few weeks
