Ubuntu - VIDEO_TS - MKV - WallaceTech - 2010-01-31

Hi Guys.

I have been playing with Boxee and a few things have been pissing me off. So before i try XBMC would just like to know a few things.

Can XBMC play .MKV files?

I have 50% of my collection is VIDEO_TS for my DVD rips, will XBMC play these?

How does XBMC handle having media eg the above on a NAS?

Cheers

Craig

yes it'lll play mkv
yes it'll play .vob files located in the VIDEO_TS foldes (or outside of them)
It'll play pretty much anything you feed it (with a few exceptions)
you just add the source for network shared data.

They will and since you are going the linux route by the sounds of it, might I suggest booting with the xbmc live cd and you can test a few things out before making a decision and installing.
