nVidia
------
@dondre: very helpful, thanks. Can you add that information to ticket #9308?

Anyone with nVidia, can you narrow down the settings that have an impact on the quarter screen issue? That will help a dev equipped with nVidia.
Don't forget to state the HW. The trigger may be different for Ion, desktop cards, etc.

Is there a black screen problem with nVidia too?

ATI
---
@steelman1991, @RDHoworth: helpful too, but maybe not the same problem as nVidia. Please don't add to the ticket for now. I want to understand which setting(s) cause the black screen and will try to repro on ATI 4550. It doesn't have as many options as the more powerful cards though. We'll see what happens. Help is appreciated.

Ati 10.6 dxva - frotsen - 2010-06-17

With the release of the new drivers 10.6 DXVA works in fullscreen and adjust frame rate on. Finally the ati 5540 is the perfect htpc card. Kudos to Elupus and Crystal for the effort and great work.

Sure mate, it's done; http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/9308#comment:28

Additionally I will test this week-end all the D3D/OGL options and try to gather a list of the options that create this bug once modified!

Just updated to june DX drivers, nvidia 256 drivers and outdated r31139, i can report that the green line that was present on right border with 4:3 videos (at least composed of x264 video and ac3 audio inside MKV) using DXVA is GONE. No idea what new component is responsible, didn't care to do things one by one.

Doesn't seem that this bug had ever been reported though... Rofl

r31139 With DXVA enabled with the following system specs:

Athlon XP 4400+
ATI 4350 HD
Catalyst 10.1
Audio via ATI 4350 HDMI (wasapi)

Everything working (have no 4:3 HD content) including direct Blu_ray Rips I have done from my discs.

Top work!

I have yet to update ATI cat drivers as the 10.6 overscan is still borked during refresh rate changes grrr ATI....

Anyone else seeing jerky playback of 25fps material @ 50hz?

Spiff - under what circumstances would you consider adding the shaders? if we all said please?..lol

Had the same problem some revisions ago. I think this was solved by XBMC because i only updated that and nothing else.

Can I add a small vote? Shaders would be great, especially If I could correct the colour space.

You can solve this by first uninstalling the driver. Then go into save mode and clean the remains using driver sweeper.
Now if you install for instance 10.5 the overscan settings will be saved.

They ain't borked per se Rolleyes. Just some manual intervention required - set overscan for each refresh rate your likely to use and they will stick (changing as you use adjust refresh rate) - been using 10.6 since its release and with this exception everything else works as it should

Thanks for this effort. Much appreciated.

No black screen (or anything unexpected) here after twiddling every driver option on ATI 4550 - Catalyst 10.6, Win 7 32.
