dear ladies and gentlemen,

the driver package has been updated to r156. if there is a bug please respond to this thread, i will fixit a few minutes later. (i have not tested it myself since my wife occupys my appletv.... sorry guys XBMC community vs. Wife is not a good deal).

- please test if the installation works.
- after the installation, do a reboot.

- please use a recent version of the xbmc svn builds.

Quote:# changes
#
# 2010-08-25 (andy204)
# * changes for new crystalhd release and downtime of turbos appletv website
# * removed check_turbo
# * added turbo_atv_enabler.bin to package
# * changed the StartupItem to fit the new turbo binary

if everything works, i will update the frontpage with the updated driver information.

thanks in advance

I'd been waiting for andy to come back from vacation. Thanks man you make this so simple for people like me.
i just did the svn update and the r156 update. everything seems to be running smooth. I can only test it with 720p video since I don't have 1080p. There was a hicup when I first started to play the video, it came up in black and white. I went back to check the settings to see if if the broadcam card was in the settings. everything seemed fine, so I made no changes. I went back to play the movie and it played fine. Thanks andy.

you are welcome. maybe you should post a pastebin of the Debug Log (black/white issue) for davilla.

black/white issue is renderer set to auto which fails to drop down to ARB and uses software. Manually set renderer to ARB.

i dont want to be nasty, but can we please keep this thread for the launcher installer? its easier to track messages regarding the original post.

thanks

Still trying to figure out some stuff(being a big noob and everything)
but after installing the nightly build and the broadcom driver over and over it still doesn't find it in xbmc/video/settings

-bash-2.05b$ sudo kextload -v /System/Library/Extensions/BroadcomCrystalHD.kext
kextload: extension /System/Library/Extensions/BroadcomCrystalHD.kext appears to be valid
kextload: loading extension /System/Library/Extensions/BroadcomCrystalHD.kext
kextload: unable to register module with kernel
kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/BroadcomCrystalHD.kext
kextload: sending 1 personality to the kernel
-bash-2.05b$ chmod +x turbo_atv_enabler.bin
chmod: turbo_atv_enabler.bin: No such file or directory
-bash-2.05b$

and now i can't transfer files in the WinSCP anymore (permission denied: code3) so it's quite hard doing anything that way tooSmile

EDIT: srry Davilla posted before i saw you moved some posts

did you install r156 or the r26 version? did you already post a Debug Log somewhere?

Everything's fine :-) - challenger - 2010-08-25

Installed via launcher both new driver and XBMC r33122 without any issues. Tried to play a couple of 1080p mkv files and bluray files in m2ts, everything's fine :-)))

Andy204, thank you for your great job on ChrystalHD! BTW, do you have a PayPal account?

davilla, you're the best! my humble support is on the way :-)

Thank you and good luck!

just updated via launcher to r156 and r33122 and crystalhd card is no longer found Sad

XBMC log here http://pastebin.ca/1925498

dmesg here http://pastebin.ca/1925516

Any other logs you need?

Should also mention it's one of the old eBay cards.

Cheers,

Jason.

"CrystalHD: device open failed , returning(0xffffffff)"
that means no driver found.
