Hi,

today I've try the option "Setup XBMC to use SVN PPA" @ karmic, but after that XBMC isn't starting anymore. Here are the log:

xci-svn-ppa-setup.log = http://xbmc-installer.pastebin.ca/1911232

There is a lot off "error processing"...

Cheers.

Hi fireman

well that is because there is a bug that prevents 9.11 to be upgraded to svn ppa versions

pls see this http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/8056

you will see my log is similar to yours.

so, xbmc bug, workaround? sure!

Purge all xbmc then install xbmc from svn ppa manually. Don't reinstall system no need. it should work fine after that. That how I done mine.

If it wasn't for the bug the script would work fine, and Im not gonna touch it.

please feel free to post your log and comment on that bug report pls. Otherwise they wont fix it.

also new script version is out, svn trunk compile is now working again.

i use xci !! very nice script.. but xbmc doesn't start after reboot and ./xbmc doesn't work too ?

any idea ?

if you use xci after team xbmc cleaned up their stable ppa and svn ppa the script wont work.

please check here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=33327 with team xbmc for when ppas come back

Hi X3,

I understand the repos are down at the moment, but when I first ran the script it told me that only Karmic Koala was supported, but from the sourceforge page and this thread I was under the impression that there was some sort of beta support for Lucid Lynx. Is this the case? I was following the instructions on the SF blog page (linked in the first post of this thread) was this correct or do I need to download some kind of beta version of the script?

Thanks for all your hard work.

Edit: Sorry forgot to ask, I understand the script can't access the XBMC repo at the moment, but will it do everything else for now and allow me to add xbmc once the repos are back up?

There is a very beta version that runs on lucid however its is only 20% compatible. not really the thing to go for. stick with karmic its way more stable atm.

No problem, I will reinstall with Karmic. Thanks for the info.

atm the xbmc ppas are down (no xbmc install files) so it wont work script needs official ppas for files. install minimal x86 then use the xbmc debs here to install xbmc http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4325533/Packages/debs.rar

the script can be used this way but it requires a lot more fiddling.

Yes sorry, meant I would re-install with Karmic and wait until the PPAs are back up (some stuff seems to be reappearing on the XBMC PPA so hopefully it shouldn't be too long).

X3lectric,

Do i use the xci script with the debs you packaged together?
Sorry, can you please explain in more details for a noob.

Thanks!!!

PPA is back again guys.

Edit: Nevermind, SVN PPA is up but Main PPA is still rebuilding, should be done by tomorrow apparently.

- X3lectric - 2010-08-15

when it is done Im having my own ppas for everyone to use with script, so I can change when team xbmc is ready, so at least script users can keep going despite...

But we hope team xbmc fixes all the issues on ppas that seem to be plaguing in past.

all the best...

ps3 bd remote with xci - josephdyland - 2010-08-16

I just gave the xci script a try for the first time on my Revo r3600. I had a old install running for over a year and decided to give something new a try! Am all up and running now..

I surprisingly got the ps3 BD Remote paired on my first attempt at it (had previously tried a long time ago for days)

When using the remote I have limited buttons that work.. am able to navigate with the D-Pad on the remote and press enter. as well as play and pause.

I am now wondering which files I need to edit to give a proper keymap for the BD Remote to get more functionality out of all of the buttons... such as the colored buttons and options key +what ever else works.

I have looked at
Code:
/etc/bluetooth/input.conf
Where else can i fine tune some settings for this remote when having used xci to install everything?
