so this was my problem the addon_data file
/home/xbmc/.xbmc/userdata/addon_data/script.games.rom.collection.browser/MyGames.db
I deleted it and restarted xbmc and now its working like it should loading my roms now
I have the nes emulator up and running GREAT SUCCESS... no sound as of now, but it is working
now to get zsnes configured

):I uploaded version "d" yesterday which has one "major" change in it: The file "config.xml" must be placed in RCBs userdata directory from now on ("script_data/script.games.rom.collection.browser" (Camelot) or "addon_data/script.games.rom.collection.browser" (Dharma)).
I have 2-3 more minor issues on my list that I want to have fixed before I make this the new default version. So please report any issues that are different from these ones:
- sometimes no game info is shown in info dialog
- sometimes no game info is shown after closing fullscreen video or game info dialog
- sometimes wrong viewtype after fullscreen or gid

Note: Depending on your previous version it may happen that you have to delete your database "MyGames.db" and reimport games again. Automatic update is always supported for "official" versions but not for all steps in between. So if you come from V0.5 or 0.5.3/4 (latest official) or 0.6.1c (latest db changes) you can keep your database.

Wiped settings and installed 0.6.1d. It freezes XBMC upon starting in it's initial configuration.
Upon killing and restarting xbmc, without even starting rcb, it asks if I want to import config.xml.
Strange.

Ok. I see. That's it trying to return back to the script upon a kill from within xbmc - as it would upon launching an emulator with launchemusolo. That's fine. What isn't quite right though is it's getting false positives on that. It seems to always detect config.xml as being changed. Otherwise it seems to be launching fine.

Strange. Can't reproduce it here.
RCB compares the timestamp of the last successfully imported config.xml with the current config.xml. This timestamp is new in 0.6.1 so you will always be asked at first startup. But it should stop after the first successful import.
What does it say in the logs when you try to import settings? Sounds like it tries to import settings and runs into an error.

I'm not sure whether this should be called an XBMC bug or a script bug.
EDIT: Locked up for about 5 minutes - audio still playing, then it stopped outputting audio/video through the HDMI until I wiggled the mouse. Audio came back, but no video.

no problem with music here. it plays until i select a game that has a video associated to it.

Back to your config.xml problem: the logs look ok. I tried it here and it is nearly the same.
Did you try to delete MyGames.db and import again?

I'll try deleting it tonight and see what happens. Try exiting RCB and reentering a few times.

Stupid noob question of the day. Where do I install the emulators in windows or how do I point RCB to them.
Unrelated second question: Would Dosbox work even tho their aren't single ROM files for dos games?

Actually, they are good questions. This script had me scratching my head for quite a while too.
Anyway, you can basically put the emus and roms wherever you like. The nub of the question is the second part. How to point RCB to them.
First, make sure that your emu supports the command line, if it doesn't, it won't work.
To point RCB to an emu, you use the tags:
<emulatorCmd>X:\path_to_emu\emuname.exe {"%ROM%"}</emulatorCmd>
Note that you may also need some command line options.
To point RCB to the roms, you use the tags:
<romPath>X:\path_to_roms\*.ext</romPath>
Note that if roms have different extensions, you need one entry for each type.
All this needs to be wrapped up in:
<RomCollection> </RomCollection>
Once you have got them working, I highly suggest you move on to figuring out cover art etc, because frankly it looks awful without.

I've replaced emtpy roms in collections directory with ones I found on internet.
Installed zsnes and e-uae via apt-get (Ubuntu).
If I start zsnes from terminal it will start normally and I can choose games from the collections directory.
Now, when I try to start same game from RCB plugin it will show Launch Game Super Mario Kart (for example). I tried pressing Enter but nothing happens?
What I'm doing wrong?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
