hey everyone, has anyone managed to launch n64 from rcb on windows 7. read earlier on the thread you guys got it working on linux is there a specific version.

I've been playing through the Castlevania series and I realised as I move on to other titles I might lose track of what I've already played a few months down the line. At some point it might be worthwhile to add an option to mark games as completed for those of us with large collections who also get distracted and forget things. ^_^

yes, just add multiple romPaths to your config.xml

Quote:is there a auto renamer koz i renamed all my zipped roms to my art and rcb didnt pick it up as there was another html file inside the zip.
I don't understand. what html file? And what is not picked up?

Quote:can you change themes im using confluence atm.
There are only skins for Confluence and Night available right now. I hope others will follow some day.

hikaricore Wrote:I completely forgot to mention before that I was never able to get fallback images working.
Tried both variations of the xml you gave me originally to no avail, and now with the new config layout I'm not sure how I should go about it.
Gonna keep messing with it but if you have any ideas on how to get it working properly let me know. ^_^
I will try this the next days myself and report back. Maybe there is an issue with it in the new versions.

Nice idea. It is on my list now. And then I have to find a way to launch your last save;-)

Rcb didn't pick up the zipped rom file for snes and on the log it said something like multiple file within directory but I got it sorted. I'm having problems loading n64 games I'm using project64 it says unable to load rom and comes back to rcb. It works fine when I launch it from project64 itself...any ideas?
But thanks to you and autorename I got snes, sega32,psx and nes done in 8 hrs.

Xbmc crashes when starting RCB - joeranjensen - 2010-11-04

I have installed the rcb from the addon repository and done as described in the setup test scenario-guide. When I try to start the addon, xbmc crashes and hangs up, or sometimes rcb starts and I click at "import settings" but I get the error "config.xml doesent exist".

Im running dharma b4, win7 64bit, asrock ion330ht, RCB 0.6.1

Can someone take a look at my logs to hopefully solve out whats wrong?

xbmc crashes: http://pastebin.com/zMBmcNFm

config.xml does not exist-error: http://pastebin.com/YPPyAfaS

I hate to ask the obvious (not really but it's fun to say) but did you create a proper config.xml file for your collection?

- malte - 2010-11-04

This is the relevant error in xbmc.log:
Code:
RCB_ERROR: File config.xml does not exist. Place a valid config file here: C:\Users\Joran\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\addon_data\script.games.rom.collection.browser\config.xml

Yes I didSmile I did as described here: http://code.google.com/p/romcollectionbrowser/wiki/Main#Setup_test_scenario

the only thing I did inside the config.xml was changing every occurance of "PathToTestData" to "c:\Testdata 0.6.x" who is where I stored my testdata folder. And I named the file config.xml.

Oops:o I copyed the config.xml to C:\Users\Joran\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\script.games.rom.collection.browser. I guess that explains a lot:o:o:o

Sorry bothering you guys

Now it works like a charmSmile

Do I have to delete Mygame.db everytime I add a new console or does it pick up the new configuration. it's not adding n64 if I do have to delete it does it mean it process everything again.

Thank you

- malte - 2010-11-06

No, you don't have to delete it. Just add a new RomCollection to config.xml and import Games again.

%rom% help - ali2k1 - 2010-11-07

Hey malte can you please advise me on this.I'm trying to launch final alpha burn and nebula I tried using %rom% for it to launch but it says the emulators dint support zip files but it does support zip. I tried from mala fe to launch these emulators with%rom% and worked fine, so my query really is there something I'm missing or use a different command. Thank you

if anyone wants covers for neo geo, snes, nes,SMS,psx, and gba I can upload it for you.

- hikaricore - 2010-11-08

Are you sure that MaLa doesn't unzip them for you prior to launch (some frontends do this).
I'm not really familiar with this fronted but it's possible your emulator really doesn't support zip files.
You should try opening a zipped game with the emulator directly to confirm before making malte run in circles. :p

p.s. %ROM% is probably case sensitive and should always be entered as such.

- malte - 2010-11-08

yes, case sensitive and surrounded by "".
