A poster resized to fanart proportions would look awful.

- TomPiXX - 2011-02-06

The problem ist, that the poster seems to be ignored in the fanart view.

There is just the default "placeholder" image (like no cover available).

- Hitcher - 2011-02-06

That's because it's a Fanart viewtype. Wink

- TomPiXX - 2011-02-06

*lol
I know! That's why I asked for a possiblity for a movie-set fanart. Laugh

I just want to have fanarts for my movie-sets.

Maybe it's possible to check if a movie has fanart than display it.
If no fanart than check for poster / cover (this would display the "streched" cover).

Maybe I think too complicated... sorry. Confused Eek

I hope you know what I mean... OoHuh

Hi Hitcher. I do not know if you will be ok to bring some small modifications to your skin to make it more functional with the Advanced Launcher add-on or any other programs add-ons. Here is the small modification that bring my MOD to your actual skin panel views :

Image
  • Display of ListItem.genre info: It is not activated for program.
  • Display of ListItem.premiered info: Add information about the release date of an item.
  • Stretched Images for wide panel : Images are by default scaled. But for program views I think it will be better to them to be stretched (as for square or tall panel views).
  • Display of ListItem.studio info: Add information about the studio. Usefull then you does not have the corresponding icons.
  • Justified Text: this one is the less necessary. I just personally found that it look better when texts are justified.
If you could bring those small modification to your skin and improve the programs add-ons display views, it will be perfect. Thank for your great stuff !!!!

Localization issue - TomPiXX - 2011-02-07

Hi,

don't know if this is reported but there's a localization issue for "mins" (video duration.

DialogVideoInfo.xml
Code:
Line 45: <label>$INFO[ListItem.Duration,, mins]</label>

Viewtype_Info_List.xml
Code:
Line 357: <label>$INFO[ListItem.Duration,, mins]</label>
Line 701: <label>$INFO[ListItem.Duration,, mins]</label>
Line 924: <label>$INFO[ListItem.Duration,, mins]</label>

"mins" should be

Code:
$LOCALIZE[31300]

-BTW- I updated the german language file, it was about 50% untranslated.
Where shall upload it?

Pastebin please.

If Hitcher adds this, I would TOTALLY add the Advanced Launcher to my system. (If anyone has a link to any information on it, I would appreciate it.)

Hitcher,

I have updated Alaska and switched from the Unicode Mod (since it became redundant).

But I have noted a missing functionality in it. 'Esc' and 'Backspace' commands have the same function.

I use the Icons layout and I can no longer access the Director, Year, Actor, Recently added itens, like I used to.
I would go to the movie view and hit backspace to get back on level and all those options where there. Now If I do it it takes me right back to the home menu.

Is that change intentional or is it a bug?

I like the behavior in revisited and I hope it stays that way, I use a Dinovo Mini keyboard without a dedicated esc key.

It's now optional.

Settings > Alaska > Home Options > Disable Flattening of Library directories

Custom Playlists - TomPiXX - 2011-02-08

Hey,

not sure if this was posted before, found nothing...

I want to have a smart playlist as a submenu button.

So I made my settings to have "Kids" as sub menu button in the "Movies" button but it does not appear.

Did I miss something?

-Btw- Plugins appear, but Smart Playlists did not...

- Hidd3nFury - 2011-02-08

I've never used smart playlists myself so I'm not very well informed on the matter but I would assume you could add the playlist to your favourites and then add the favourite as the sub-menu button.
