Hey Hitcher,

first of all I got to say how great this skin looks & feels. It's so clean I am sure even my girlfriend is going to love it.

I really like what you did with the submenus, how you can add plugins there. One thing I want to do is to seperate my movie collection to several submenus (like Documentaries, Splatter movies, Movies for my gf).

Is there any possibility that smart playlists or video sources could be mapped to the submenus?

- sedj - 2010-07-21

Fan art is slow for me on acer revo so i followed the guide Hitcher linked to on page 5:

First
Add this line to your AdvancedSettings.xml so XBMC could use .dds images instead of tbn.
Code:

<useddsfanart>true</useddsfanart>

Problem is where is the AdvancedSettings.xml Huh

Also the files are bigger after compression than before? I take it this is why they load faster as they are actually uncompressed?

Anyhows any help would be nice.

Thanks
Sedj

Mine is in
C:\XBMC\portable_data\userdata but I use -p
If you dont use portable mode it should be in
C:\Users\(Your Profile)\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata

If you dont have one just create the file yourself

Hitcher Wrote:No, that's it finished pretty much now, although I'll keep fixing any bugs of course, as my time is now focused on Welo.

how do you turn the info on when you hit play so when you select a movie it shows info and then you can hit play or do you need to hit i first ?

thanks

Spaggi Wrote:I think I'm the dumbest person alive....but how can I add the zip file? I'm in add-ons -> add from zip file and the file browser is displayed on the right. But there is just one drive selectable (which is my dvd-rom which doesn't work) and nothing else clickable execpt "cancel"? Wh00t? I'm using R32022

Edit: Got it working with disabling Daemon Tools and restarting XBMC. I:\ was a
Daemon Tools drive

You should pass this info along to the XBMC team, I have a DT like proggy on my system and I had the same issue you did. When you disabled it did all your HD's partitions come up? I ended up making an ISO, mounting it in MagicISO and installing it from a virtual drive. Your method sounds a whole lot easier and quicker Big Grin

I searched on here and didn't find anything, is there a site to get landscape TV show posters from?

Extrathumbs are not implemented, it's a MOD. See here:

I just figured out 720/1080p fanart fits perfectly with no editing outside of resizing DOH! Sweet Big Grin

I have a ? for anyone who knows, a few of my posters were wrong and it wasn't detecting the new ones I copied to the TV Show folder. So I deleted my thumbnail cache, re-started XBMC and let it re-scan my movies & TV Shows back in. For the TV shows the poster view works, but banner and landscape aren't showing up. I checked the folders and all of them have the same files as before. And before I deleted the thumbnail caches I was getting banners & landscape for all my shows. Maybe I shouldn't have deleted the thumbnail cache but I couldn't figure out another way to get it pick up that I had new landscape images (update library didn't do anything) How can I get my landscape & banners back?

help?

- ClayM - 2010-07-24

After a recent pull from SVN, all of the home screen images have disappeared. Any idea what's up with that? Everything else seems to work fine.

- quebert - 2010-07-24

I'm puzzled now, after deleting my thumbnail cache I was having problems with my landscape and banner images coming up. So I ran XBMC in portable mode, re-added my tv show directory, and still aren't seeing any. I was seeing them before I deleted the cache fine. portable mode should have made a totally new userdata directory so I'm not understanding how they're not showing up. I have banner.jpg and landscape.jpg in my TV show directories the exact same as before. Tried updating to the latest SVN, no change.

ideas?

*EDIT* ok, I rebooted and in portable mode I'm getting landscape & banners now, but regular mode still coming up blank. Oh well I think I'll stick to portable mode.
